Oh shit never mind
> TAMPA, Fla. — U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces conducted strikes against Iran, June 26, as a powerful response to yesterday’s attack on a commercial ship that was transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
>U.S. aircraft struck Iranian missile and drone storage locations and coastal radar sites after Iran hit M/V Ever Lovely on June 25 with a one-way attack drone. The Singapore-flagged cargo ship was exiting the Strait of Hormuz along the Omani coast at the time of Iran’s attack.
The unwarranted aggression against commercial shipping by Iranian forces clearly violated the ceasefire. Furthermore, Iran’s dangerous behavior undermined freedom of navigation as commerce increasingly flows through the vital international trade corridor.
>CENTCOM forces continue to provide safe passage coordination and support to commercial vessels transiting the strait. The U.S. military remains present and vigilant to ensure all aspects of the agreement with Iran are adhered to, obeyed, and in full force and effect.

Surely he wouldn't
Just take the L and let this mess go away

It’s a new operation, not a war. War powers resolution doesn’t work tranny. 60 days of reminding poor people how much better it would be if they killed themselves.
>>
Trump is acting like the strait is still open but who is going to take that risk?

It looks like the pool is gonna be closed at least a few more months and India is trying to compensate for their fuel shortages by adding extra stuff to it to stretch their supply
>BUT THAT EXTRA STUFF IS GOING TO WRECK EVERY INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE IN THE COUNTRY

Sixty percent of their calories come from just three staples. Those staples need to go in the ground literally right now
>THEY ARE MISSING MORE OF THE PLANTING SEASON WITH EACH PASSING DAY

And when the strait eventually does open - half the cars, trucks, busses, motorcycles, water pumps, plows, tractors, etc are going to have their engines permanently damaged
>DECADES OF CAPITAL INVESTMENT GONE

On top of this the El Niño this year is a SUPER EL NIÑO that is a once-in-a-hundred-year event. And see picrel. They get DROUGHT from it. You do not want drought
>WHEN YOU ALREADY HAVE YIELDS WAY LOWER BECAUSE OF A FUEL AND FERTILIZER SHORTAGE

And on top of that the damage they did to their soil affects root and fruit growth the most. You will end up with a potato harvest that has these big leafy structures above ground
>BUT POTATOES THE SIZE OF A GOLF BALL UNDERGROUND

Want to know what else you get when you combine: drought + heat wave + stifled root growth
>YOU GET A FUCKING DUST BOWL

And all those water pumps they will use to get water out from deep underground
>THE DIESEL ADDITIVES WILL DESTROY THEM

The lentil chickpea shortage is only 10% of calories so no big deal
>NOPE THAT'S WHERE THEY GET THEIR PROTEIN

I'm not just having some TJD fantasy here. They are actually for real fucked
>GENUINELY - TRULY - SERIOUSLY - UTTERLY - FUCKED

In most of India, empty shelves would have (in the absence of panic buying) been seen by late 2026 - but we will see them much sooner as fear grips the nation. It will be the Covid19 toilet paper panic times a million. By early 2027 (after the food from the current growing season has failed to show up on supermarket shelves for a few months) the government being overthrown is on the table - and frankly - this is looking extremely likely if Trump and Iran don't make nice soon. Very soon

A major caloric deficit is already baking into the cake. A one month additional delay would cause a significant reduction in yields but a few months would mean an entire lost growing season. If India was a smaller country they could rely on the charity of others - but there are too many mouths to feed - and on top of that they aren't exactly liked by the rest of the population of planet. If Japan was starving the rest of us would figure out how to fix it but India is going to get at best indifference and at worst people cheering famine on

India can't just buy what it needs either. In terms of PPP they are much richer than in nominal terms - but - when it comes to international trade PPP is meaningless. Their nominal per-capita GDP was $2,800 before the Rupee went down 10%. Combine this with the fact that food is already much costlier than it was before the strait shut down and with the fact that it will only get more expensive with each passing day - and India is really in trouble. It is not a good time to have to rely on trade to feed your people

Keep in mind... When White people get hungry they do the polite thing and quietly starve to death at home - brown people instead burn things to the ground

Do you anons remember Sri Lanka? Thousands of people storming the presidential residence and raiding the fridge and swimming in the pool and getting up to other such shenanigans and tomfoolery? In 2027 India we could see this on a World War Z scale
