There was a chemical smell like chlorine and then mildewy but the mildew thing might be my fault because I never drained the AC tray and it probably got moldy inside the unit or something. I just cope with the industrial fan from the car repair shop I used to work at. I only set it at 1 out of 3 power and it's already too strong. Obviously it can't make the air cold but it helps so much.
