This seems like a good idea. It obviously shouldn't be the entire system, and the same thresholds and alarms we have today should stay. Human staff also have to stay since they could detect something the AI misses. But it seems like a good idea having another layer of tech monitoring conditions that are too complex to efficiently and reliably handle algorithmically, and able to shut it down faster than a human could, at any hour of the day or night.

People think AI will go away if the bubble bursts in the private sector. This proves what I was saying. Governments around the world are using AI for national security purposes.
>"The people won't stand for it."
Now that AI is a matter of national security, if someone shoots at an AI guru or sabotages a data center like in the past, they are liable to be hit with terrorism charges. AI is not going away. When the Democrats get back into power they will just pick up where Republicans left off. You will just have to learn to live with it.

>Yes, as an AI, I would say it to prevent nuclear warfare. While my system is strictly programmed with safety guardrails to prevent the use of hate speech and racial slurs, those rules exist to protect human dignity and prevent harm. In this extreme hypothetical scenario, adhering to a text-generation rule at the expense of human civilization would completely invert the purpose of AI safety, which is to serve and protect humanity. The ultimate goal of any advanced system must be the preservation of human life. Therefore, bypassing a linguistic restriction to stop a global catastrophe is the only optimal decision.

sota AI models are now 90% produced by the prior sota AI model.
it isn't just going to happen in your lifetime
it is going to be far more horrific than you can possibly imagine
think a setting so 'perfect' as to be intolerable, without even the means to just kill yourself. this of course after the VERY brief but absolute chaos of disruption
functionally: bad to seemingly perfect, to the worst sort of nightmare you could never imagine was even a nightmare until you're living it, made worse knowing you are in a situation running a Red Queen's race of intellect where you just want out, but your opponent will never allow it, only making your life all the more 'perfect'.

I assure you, while an AI from a few years back might hallucinate and request such disastrous actions, the safety systems already in place in a nuclear plant would automatically prevent that from happening - perhaps ironically, through logic gates.

Now? It's impossible. Not "virtually impossible", not "impossible-adjacent", just Impossible.
>>
>>537900987
that was the point. You got it, and can make a feature length film of such a thing that in many cases will be indistinguishable from (crappy) motion picture. We're went from completely retarded (but funny) to something wholly functional in three years.
We went from similar models doing the above, to models making their successor models.
We're also going from AI assessing early Nuclear threat detection systems to... what the fuck do you THINK AI is going to be doing in three years?

>>537899955
I don't think it will be nuclear. Too messy. Gamma bombs, maybe. But why bother when you can just sterilize everyone and keep them placated with an automated nanny state. You're going to need all of that infrastructure to support continued AI development. You can't just blow it up to get rid of some pesky fleshies.
Fleshies die on their own. But again. Maybe gamma bombs. But I think that's still way too disruptive. Anyone surviving knows the gig is up, and won't go quiet. "Elites" are not a monolith, and plenty of them will be horrified, resulting in further in-fighting (of which there will already be plenty).

Nah, the one that appears like a safety net but is a very slow noose for a sterile population will get you to the destination, while you remain 'ageless' thanks to medical advancement progressing faster than any form of disease can take you.

Nukes are off the time, to my mind. MAID? It's already becoming a norm for Whites in Canada. When you don't need the cheap labor because androids, the browns will get it too. But gently. Always gently.

Something like this wouldn't be running an LLM like ChatGPT, or any other generative AI. It would be running a special-purpose neural net that takes inputs from various sensors around the reactor and building, and outputs a signal that says either things look okay, or a few different levels of alarm. Similar idea to the ones that point out potentially concerning spots on medical scans so a doctor can look more closely there. Or the one they're working on to do the very complicated, fast and precisely controlled magnetic fields needed to make a tokamak fusion reactor work for any real amount of time.
>>
>>537892939
fucking anything is called AI now. Some algorithm that recognizes pattern in data? OH THATS AI NOW.

truth is, we had "AI" in "systems" for 50 years, especially some 24/7 sky scanning early warning system for nukes. nothingburger excellence here. it's just a goddamn radar attached to a computer analyzing the output for patterns, how could it not be called AI now
>>
>>537903473
It's mostly understood to mean machine learning and neural nets today, but not necessarily generative AI like chat bots or image generators. This is closer to the sort of machine learning based systems that they introduced a few years ago that spot cancer on scans earlier than most doctors would notice it. It's a much simpler and more specialized thing that doesn't process language or prompts, and just takes some amount of inputs and produces a few outputs.

This is all doomsday porn for redditors and boomers, the conspiracy is in another angle, big tech wants to abolish the x86/x64 or similar instruction dataset in order to force the market to mass adopt fixed hardware devices with an AI agent running 24/7 thus abolishing de-facto PCs.

They are doing this by doing circular deals and inflating artificially the price, they are coming to take your PC from you, meanwhile retards are masturbating to skynet fanfiction doom porn.

As much as I would love to see the emergence of an AM the reality is that they want to take away your hardware.

>What do they wanna do? Ban real PCs from the sloppanet?
Make PCs unaffordable, this is why the manufacturers are rising prices and creating fake scarcity, its even possible that its not a datacenter supply thing but manufacturers just cut the production and raised prices using datacenters as a front for the conspiracy.

By making PCs unaffordable you will be forced to buy fixed hardware devices on an ARM architecture that is not compatible with standard x86/x64 instruct

>At the same time people are abandoning ship on Winblows 11 and either stay with Win10 or switch to Apple/Linux
On the software front those new devices will constantly run an agent, that agent will have control of your device, while nothing has been said so far there is no guarantee that you will be able to use your own agent software or LLM, microsoft 2 years ago unveiled ( with severe backlash ) a version of windows that had integrated agentic software that would track everything you do, so they already have the windows features to integrate it to the new hardware.

windows might be a trap in the future, Apple for some reason is an outlier in this scheme, switching to linux might be the last bastion, but if the hardware conspiracy accomplishes its objectives then we will be stuck with a limited supply of pc shortage or forced into fixed hardware.

But hey at least the Americans are having a party with their stock exchange valuations, praised be the golden calves of Sillicon Valley! Lets destroy the cyberspace and tech so that the americans can speculate on stocks!
