the only tax you should receive is on income. get gifted a house? someone made the money to buy that house, and that person got taxed. tax inequality is because of complexity in the system of taxation, complexity that is lobbied for by industries that rely upon it.
>>537922434They just pass those taxes on to the end consumer, it's like Trump's tariffs all they did was make stuff more expensive
>>537922605A great reason to reduce or eliminate those taxes. All the tax revenue has been proven to be wasted on garbage and kick backs.
>>537921737a collapse will be the tax they pay. the reason why things always seem to get worse (for normal people) is because they are getting better for the wealthy people. a collapse will impact these people much more than any of us. unfortunately, they will let it go on as long as possible because of this.
it's not intended to succeedthat's why many of the rich support the dems without blinking an eyeand any additional revenue earned just gives the state more incentive to make sure these wealthy individuals stay wealthy by bailing out their bad decisions and protecting their monopolieswhat really needs to happen is to bring back antitrust law and dismantle their companies
>>537921737Yeah, it's just virtue signaling Communist style. "Tax the Rich" sounds good only to dumb losers who think they'll never be able to accumulate anything on their own, so they need Big Daddy Govt to promise them shit that will never materialize because it can't. It's unsustainable, but the young and dumb think they're magically the first ones to figure things out. Point to the Communist country that looks like a better life, then just go move there instead. Funny how people don't leave en masse to move to China or Russia. Funny how the young and dumb proto-Communist "Dem Socislists" are simply begging for bigger government, as if more government involvement really improves anything, and are willing to parrot "tax the rich" slogans even when they're spouted by multimillionaire politicians at events funded by billionaires. Do the young and dumb think they'll get three houses like Bernie, fly around first-class like Bernie and AOC? Can they not see that Mamdani and wife both come from privilege? Can they not see how many politicians get magically wealthy just by staying in office for decades?
>>537921737Washington did this and immediately started taxing the poor, then when people got uppity about it they did a voter's initiative and Washington state basically told them to go fuck thenselves after it passed.

Funny how under the covid scam, freedoms went down, and more things got consolidated, including businesses.
Nobody in this thread is mentioning how billionaire's wealth is generally from loans taken out against the value of their stock holdings, then used as tax-free income. That's a loophole that needs to be closed.
>>537924221We should lower taxes and do that. That way there's double benefits for citizens.
>>537924819>loans taken outSo you want to TAX borrowed money!!! So NOW i have to pay taxes to borrow money to buy a home then pay taxes again when I sell the home?!So want people to only rent and never owna home.FUCK YOU!!! You bastard!
>>537921737>should i get taxed on my 1B house? i would literally have to sell my house to pay the taxes. You already do, it's called property taxes. You can charge property taxes on stocks too.We should have a federal property tax on stocks whose combined value is in excess of a billion dollars.
>>537921737This is all performative nonsense designed to keep the myth alive that governments need to acquire revenue first before they can spend. Now, it's true that state governments in the US are subordinate to the federal -- meaning the it is the federal who creates the money. So the issue is insufficient money coming from the federal government. Or insufficient hard productive assets (actual industrial capital infrastructure) by the state that generates revenue for it.The money held by an individual billionaire is basically irrelevant. Elon Musk is supposedly a trillionaire (or was, briefly, and could be again in short order), but the US annual budget was $7T by itself. GDP is ~$29-30T.
>>537924255To be fair, Elon doesn't know how money works, either. Or maybe he does and is just lying because he wants to impose austerity when he gets on television and tells people the US can go bankrupt.

You can't buy a government bond unless you have currency or bank reserves -- meaning they need to exist independent of and prior to a bond being sold.A city can't collect the subway tokens (if anybody remember these) from the population until it distributes them first. >>537935913Congress apportions all spend. The Federal Reserve is an agent of Congress. The Congress passes a spending bill -- this creates new money right then and there. When they spend to a deficit, by identity they are creating bank reserves within the banking system in the amount of that deficit. If you allowed reserves to pile up in the banking system it would naturally drive the interest rate down, potentially to zero. So what the Fed (and treasury) do is they sell bonds to drain excess reserves from the banking system in support of their interest rate target (which as a monopoly operation, the Fed itself sets so it can always hit it).

Luxury taxes, particularly on foreign-made goods. You want a $4.5 million Bugatti? You want a $180 million Lürssen Yacht? Okay. Be prepared to pay a 30% federal luxury tax on it the moment it enters the country, plus another % luxury tax annually to keep it registered. Don't want to pay the tax? Buy American-made luxury goods. The act of buying big property/land in another country could also come with some sort of US tax, if you're a US citizen, to encourage the purchase and development of property in the US. This would likely be harder to legislate and effectively pull off, though. Sin taxes and total bullshit that nobody needs -- legalized marijuana products, legalized escorts, gambling, prediction market earnings, etc., would be another source of revenue.

It's interesting how corporations and the wealthy pay far less taxes these days than in the past yet they are making gigantic profits for themselves, workers wages have stagnated, plus all the prices have skyrocketed, care to explain? How exactly would getting rid of these taxes solve anything because history has already shown that decreasing the taxes has only made things worse?
>>537938329Our country did fine without income tax before 1913 actually it expanded and became the strongest nation on the planet and it only took little over 100years. Now look what the central bankers have done. Look at our cities look at our factories
>>537937981There is nothing that requires the US to sell bonds, or to pay interest on bonds that it does sell, outside of self-imposed restraints. The existence of the central bank itself does not compel the State to do these things. It's a policy choice (and it very well might be a bad policy choice). You have zero or near-zero interest rates from the Fed back during the whole 2008 deal. The problem you guys have is you mistake the existence, the mere existence, of the central bank itself for conscious and deliberate policy decisions that people (who often do work for the central bank -- but usually at the political appointed levell rank and file Fed staff do understand how this works) make with those tools. And this is a common theme with rightoids because they don't actually want to engage in serious thinking or politics.

The income tax should be gotten away with because it is unconstitutional but still the wealthy and corporations paid far more taxes all around in the past compared to today and people overall were more prosperous. Since lowering taxes on the wealthy and coporations all it has resulted in is a concentration of wealth to a few people while everyone else's quality of life has suffered. You can just see it with your eyes today how your average person is far worse off than in the past when taxes were higher on the wealthy and corporations while the wealthy and coporations are living the high life making record profits for themselves.

To solve it, just have a flat flax rate for everyone. 20% tax sucks of youre poor and it sucks if you’re rich. But if you’re rich, at least you will contribute more. And there should be no tax after you get your money. No tax when buying stuff at the grocery store. The store will have to tax by the end of the month, but they can’t add tax to what you buy. And some stores would try to incorporate the tax by raising the prices, but competition would sort that out quickly.

Easy answer, inflation. Inflation taxes everyone who holds dollars. It's the reason guys like the Rothschilds and Rockefellers aren't really relevant anymore. $100 million back then was top dog nation-spanning wealth, today it's a penny.Combined with inflation, you have to limit their access to markets, their ability to invest. A lot of these billionaires need to ride trends and play the game to stay hot, and if they don't have access they can't do it.
>>537921737>how tf do you tax a billionaire?Violently.
>>537942458Shareholders are the cancer that has a stranglehold on the economy. If it wasn't for dodge v ford. Companies could actually afford to pay their employees a good salary without the risk of being sued to fucking oblivion.
>>537942323you forget where we're talking about? Something will take it's place. It just won't be as lucrative as it was, allowing intangible amounts of wealth to be concentrated in the hands of a few. It'll be regulated and taxed accordingly, such as is the premise of this thread. If we've realized that we've made a mistake; the goal is not to make the same mistake twice.
>>537921737>how tf do you tax a billionaire? Not the way the left is doing it, since that can be bypassed by having lots of assets that rise in value, then borrowing on those assets and paying back only interest. The best way to "tax the rich" is to create an economic environment where - relative to our current economy - incomes rise faster, even if it is at the expense of asset growth. This would look like a world where the price of labour increases faster than now, such that corporate share prices don't rise as quickly, and interest rates are kept at a much higher level. In addition, there would be a far higher level of human capital investment in order to increase productivity (yes I know that is not the solution by itself, see Canada), along with infrastructure. This is where you would see things like increased funding for education plays a role in societal development. (Funding however would have to come from more progressive higher income taxes, while simultaneously removing incentives to reward people with access to assets a'la CEO stock options). It can be done, but the consequence is every wealthy person who followed the "buy, borrow, die" model is going to be fucked in advance since the assets that justified taking out such a loan might not be worth enough to cover the loan if they needed to pay it all back via liquidation.
>>537942650I think wealth should be for work. Like do $50 of labor, get paid $50. One thing that bothers me is people who can make money simply by "owning things". You did no work, you put no effort in, yet you made money just having your name on the title.Using the stock market people can accumulate vast fortunes just by passing around pieces of paper. It's clearly a hack in the system. I think people at the top know it's bullshit, but they all profit from it so it's allowed to persist. The concept I was playing around with was the idea of a 2 currency system. 1 currency would be exchanged for goods, services, labor....etc. The other currency would have a different name, and would be for owning titles, deeds, land...etc. The trick of it is, with the second currency you can only buy something for the same you paid for it. Pay $20 for a stock, sell the stock for $20. Money in = money out. This way you can accumulate titles, deeds, land...etc, but you can't actually profit that way. There would be a one-way currency conversion. You could convert dollars into ownership shares, but not the reverse. Also just the clarify, a house is a depreciating asset, so the house is traded as a normal good using dollars. But the title, deed for the land under the house, that is traded in this other currency. Also the way it works is that when you sell something, it's put up for bid. So while you can sell something for exactly what you paid for it, that doesn't correspond to what someone buys it for. So for example, you sell something for 20 blue chips (or whatever this currency is called) but someone buys it for 50. The difference of 30 doesn't go to the previous owner.
>>537941817lol, are you dumb?Tax rates for brackets goes up, not down.
>>537941658It’s the exact history of the federal income tax you buffoon.
>>537940248If you create and start a company and own a majority share of it you are in effect paying the pay roll tax. You created the mechanism is which created that tax stream. You also created the income tax the company pays. To a lesser extent you even created the tax your employees pay on their income. I’m not simping for billionaires or capitalism but as fake and gay as the system is, it’s built on people starting companies so the (((govt))) can then get its hands on every tax it can think of.
>>537921905This bullshit is happening in Washington as we speak. The "totally not an income tax" was passed and the money it would have raised was immediately spent. Now we get to see the state do their best to act surprised when there's a massive revenue shortfall at the end of the year and tearfully announce that the floor is getting blown out on the earnings required for the tax to apply to you. And of course they'll have it translated into salishan with a 6'6 brown tranny flapping xer arms around live for the hearing impaired. I fucking hate this place some times.

>>537921737Some kind of a tax on unrealised gains, I suppose. Maybe it only applies to people above certain wealth. Otherwise it's going to be rather rough for people with small investment portfolios.
>>537943366
>>537943059So let's say you saved $20,000. You convert the money to blue chips (or whatever the 2nd currency is called) and purchase the deed to a small farm. You can now profit off the production of the farm. The wheat, the produce, the livestock. You can hire farmhands and cowboys and set up a thriving business. But when it's time to sell the farm, you can only sell it for $20,000, the same you bought it for.I guess the problem of this is, you made capital improvements to the farm. You bought extra machinery, installed the fences, created the workflow and institutional efficiency. So you should actually be allowed to profit from that, ideally. I mean you did profit for all the years you ran the business, you got the extra income. But in terms of passing that along to a new owner, you sould be reticent to do so unless you were compensated for what you put in. I think when it comes to the deed for the business itself, there should be some facility to pay a previvous owner dividends or something. Like maybe a separate sort of share type

>>537943916Maybe I'm answering my own question. But there could be a neater solution.Like, surely if this farm is so profitable, the business would expand. You'd expand and expand, and so you'd profit off the scale. While you only paid $20k or whatever, you are reaping rewards more in line with a $50k investment. But remember, I asserted money should be for work. When you quit, why should you be able to profit in-perpetuity for something you're no longer putting work into?Whatever value these institutional efficiencies are worth, can be sold separately as its own title. Kind of like...I dunno, a patent? And indeed that should be worth blue chip. But what's the point of accumulating all this blue chip anyway? I guess...buying a big house for your retirement? You can't convert it back to consumer goods, but maybe you can use it to get something of value. Maybe you would invest it into government and get something that way. His nose literally grew around his glasses>Torah Torah Torah Japan didn’t declare war on the American peopleChange my mind Historical Significance: Nagasaki has been a crucial center for Christianity in Japan since the arrival of Jesuit missionaries in the 16th century. It became the primary location for Catholicism, especially after the Tokugawa shogunate's ban on Christianity from 1614 to 1868. Christian Presence: While Hiroshima is more widely known for the atomic bombing on August 6, 1945, it also has a history of Christian presence, though it is not as prominent as Nagasaki.https://www.bitchute.com/video/oU6KAhKfXNg5/

>>537946775Yeah it's mostly a computer that flags the poors since they can't do much beyond dumb shit like claiming they're a student. Anyways, last year they made it more difficult to audit the wealthiest and placed emphasis on auditing the poor's. Took away a lot of exemptions too iirc.
>>537947091Florida you say?
>>537947478Yeah, Florida has no income tax. That's why so many Jews live there.
>>537947471I asked my H&R guy ( I have to itemize) if there are any laws REQUIRING me to pay income tax and he said no. BUT there is a law saying you’d have to FILE taxes. But he said if I don’t pay they make my life a hellHow is this not extortion? This is literally what mafia does
>>537947592Wait a minute!!!Jews wants all the social programs for the “poor” but don’t want to pay for it?
>>537935402>Literally how permanent federal income taxes were passed in this country. Originally only applied to millionaires. Pretty soon everybody was paying, because the people in the top bracket kept finding ways to lower their declared income to avoid paying the top bracket.Wrong originally they applied to Public Office Holders, then they handed out SSN which were voluntary and taxed those people for a retirement plan (which is now insolvent) then they expanded the Tax rate post WW2 for Patriotism, and the "Greatest Generation" knowingly sold us all into slavery for a Social Security check.
>>537921737Whats Hillarious about this is the subjects of the tax cannot even fight it in Federal Court, because the only subject matter a judge cannot rule on and grant releif through Declaratory Judgement is Tax Laws, a judge in a tax case is prohibited from even giving the definitions of a term in the Tax Code.
>>537947801For the rich people making $25k and over it’s still like that today. Under $25k you don’t have to file But that was rich in 1913 you can’t live in $25k yr now. Law hasn’t changed probably by design. They get you with just the rich then start the printing press. Next thing you know in 2113 you won’t be able to live on $25M/ yr but your stuck paying cause $25M was rich when the law passed
>>537921737>how tf do you tax a billionaire?SIMPLE:My tax system1) Flat Income Tax rate. Loans can not be taken on unrealized "wealth".2) National Sales Tax on all goods/services.EXAMPLE:Citizen buys a car for $20,000......pays sales tax. Billionaire buys mega yacht...pays sales tax. Same rate regardless of wealth. Much harder to avoid taxation.....as there is no real point to becoming a billionaire, if one is going to refrain from the luxuries of having such massive amount of money. AND.....inherritance is income.
>You can't tax billionaires guys, they're just too smart for us! They have like, bank accounts in the Cayman islands o algo. They'll just move away! No you can't just take their capital if they try to do that, that's cheating! Better not even try, it will only make things worse for us in the Middle Class™! Also, you know they'll just give all the monies to niggers anyway, and we sure hate niggers don't we folks!
>>537947091>They're gonna move silicon valley and Hollywood to florida if you tax them!!!It's be cheaper just to pay the tax than rebuild their infrastructure all over again
>>537948821Prove my tax dollars don’t go to saving fat niggers
>>537940248Fucking retard. How old are you? Stupidest post I’ve seen all day.

on total wealth ... if they try to leave a state or the country 40% departure tax
Eat just one billionaire and the rest will fall in line. They'll gladly be taxed
>>537929048>What do you think property tax is?property taxes are a huge fucking scam. basically once you own a piece of property you have to rent it out to the government. fucking shit even when i had a car in virginia and didn't even own the car outright, i was still paying property taxes on shit i didn't even totally own.
>>537954043shit fucking pisses me off. you can never really own anything. you a permanent renter.
>>537943288Business taxes are not equivalent to income tax. They are a cost of doing business, like any other cost. They are passed onto the consumer. Personal taxes are completely different. Income tax, taxes on your residential property etc. You are forced to bear the burden of these taxes. If income tax increases 5% that's money right out of your pocket. If payroll tax is increased 5% the business can and in most cases will just raise prices to maintain their profit margin. Anyway the real issue is the implementation of capital gains tax. I'm not smart enough to know how to fix it, but any retard can see that inherent unfairness that the current tax system creates. A wealthy person can sustain decades of high expense lifestyle with interest only loans, only paying tax on the income or assets sold needed to finance the interest i.e. only paying tax on a fraction of money used to finance their lifestyle. Then way down the line or even after they are dead they sell a bunch of assets to pay off the principle, triggering one capital gains tax event. The unfairness arises due to the time value of money. The wealthy person has essentially been allowed to defer their tax payment for decades while it passively gains value that they can pocket. Meanwhile a regular person is taxed on 100% of their personal expenses on a yearly basis. Imagine you pay $30k income tax a year, but could instead elect to pay $5k now and keep the remaining $25k in an index fund with a promise to pay it back in 20 years. In 20 years that $25k has grown to $100k in value, you use it to pay off the $25k tax and get to give the rest to your kids as inheritance. And that's just one year of taxes. This is essentially how taxes work for the ultra wealthy.
>>537941658The left has a huge problem with projection posting
>>537921737You're right. We should tax goys more, and use that money on free gibs for the billionaires. The more the billionaires have, the better. Let's make a 99.99% goy income tax and send it all to the billionaires. That way, we can create the perfect world.
>>537921737Easy, you tank the entire economy so their currency goes into hyperinflation, and their assets lose all their value
>>537954270Oh, it's not just the left
>>537954218so imagine you buy 1k in stock and it goes to 1B. should you pay taxes on that unrealized gain? it could go to zero after you have paid the taxes. does the government pay you back then? the simplest solution is to just tax realized gains.
>>537954455You shouldn't, but everyone would cash out big time if they did a 1,000,000x on 1k.
>>537935200Retard. Like I said, they move their wealth with them. They also move their businesses too, which means your job goes "poof". Like I said, like it or not, you will lick billionaire taint because if you don't, they'll wreck your economy and force you into Africa-tier poverty.
>>537954357Nah the left takes it to a whole other level
>>537921737>how tf do you tax a billionaire?it's just a talking point dems drag out every election cycle for their 80 IQ voter base. they're like pavlov's dog that lot
>>537954607>You shouldn't, but everyone would cash out big time if they did a 1,000,000x on 1k.and they get taxed when they do. i read an article where it was reported that most of the eth developers cashed out around 90 when, if they held, they would be multi-millionaires today.
>>537954970Yes. Billionaires also cash stuff out. How else would they afford their lavish lifestyles with 500 million dollar yachts and stuff?
>>537921737>pay your taxes or you go to jail./thread
>>537921737>>537921905this shit basically just happened here in australia>packaged as a tax on the rich>actually just ends up assfucking the middleclass furthermeanwhile all the boomers who already own everything get grandfathered in to the old policy because it wouldnt be "fair" otherwise
>>537955182>Yes. Billionaires also cash stuff out.and they pay taxes when they do.
It's never about wealth niggers it's always policies and laws. The Nigger Middle class will never understand this and rightfully suffer. I hope they become worse than the poor one day.
>>537921737You tax their employees. You get more employees to tax Y NOT ALLOWONG THEM TO SHIP JOBS OVESEASORIMPORT FOREIGN LABORsimple as fuck.Tax the employeesPay the employees more livable wages, they pay more taxes.Billionaire unmolested.Middle class rises again.Fight me.
>>537921737fuck taxing the rich, i want exit control i want to prevent them from running away after they ruin the country.>proceed to ruin the country into hellhole>move into a gated community ignore all problems you make>gated community no longer enough run away and leave. The Nation built them up so they could just set it on fire and run away.
>>537956740You're still ignoring the loan structures that billionaires use to make purchases. In most cases a billionaire will not liquidate assets to buy a yacht. They will take out an interest only loan. Let's say $10 million at 5%. That means they only need to liquidate $500k per year to service the loan, and that it what they will pay capital gains tax on. At 30% that means they are $150k tax vs $3 million tax they would pay if they liquidated $10 mil (assuming asset starting price of effectively $0).That means it would take 20 years of servicing the loan before they pay tax equivalent to the amount of money they have actually used for the personal expense of buying the yacht. But of course their assets have continued to grow in value over that time, while the principle of the loan has not. This is why it functions as deffered tax payment, and even though they will have to pay capital gains again when they liquidate to pay off the principle, this is negligible relative to the 20 year growth they have enjoyed on that $3 million they didn't have to pay at the outset. Obviously I don't agree with a wealth tax. That shit is retarded. But there should be some kind of threshold where a personal loan triggers a taxable event. Even if you think progressive tax systems are socislist bullshit and believe in a flat tax system it still doesn't make sense that once you reach a certain level of wealth you are able to substantially reduce the % tax paid funding your lifestyle compared to the rest of the population.
>>537959154fucking hell be more concise. also, it's banks taking the risks here when it's loans to billionaires.
There's so much wealth at top, we could eliminate taxes for the poor for decades
>>537959427>banks taking the riskThe risk is insanley low which is why the interest rate these guys get is also insanley low, way lower than the 5% I used as an example.A couple tens of millions in loans is not at all risky when it is underwritten by billions in assets. And all of that is besides the point. A bank taking risk doesn't somehow compensate for the tax deferral enjoyed by the person taking out the loan to pay their personal expenses.
>>537936085>taxed on $250M unrealized gain on assets>forced to sell assets to pay tax>only get $75M for them

>>537961601People become millionaires by working hard. People become billionaires by being harming other people. A billion is so much larger than a million it's not even comparable. Billionaires all are pushing for AI and surveillance police states. They are digging bunkers. They provide nothing for anyone. They would be better in the dirt. They are afraid right now, as are you, and for good reason. People are coming for them.
