I've been through every type of medical facility here in America you could imagine for my condition, and the one time I had a flare up in Auckland and I went to the hospital there, it was unimaginably smooth compared to anything we have here. Of the remaining 300 that DO know they have cancer, not all of them have the coverage or ability to seek treatment due to the cost. So only 100 of the 1000 actually are trying to book an appointment for the surgeon to get the cancer removed.In someplace like the UK or Canada, the colonoscopy is free. Vastly more people get checked for cancer, the cancer is caught, they then seek additional treatment which is also free. The surgeon now has several times the number of people trying to get an appointment, leading to delays because they simply do not have the time for all of them.
