American trucks are regulated by trailer length. European trucks are regulated by total vehicle length, which is why they get the cuck cab with their knees against the front bumper. Euro trucks are less efficient, less safe, less comfortable, the only advantage is better visibility up close. You sometimes see one in a crowded yard for that reason, moving trailers between parking spots, but they're way less efficient at highway speeds.
