Picrel is the current META for modern warfare. You think your fleet of F16s means anything in the eyes of a drones operator? You have a mesh network of satellites that gives you a 360° view of the ground? That’s neet… meanwhile Muhammad just blew the legs off another infant while taking a shit 6000 miles away from the battlefield using his nifty FPV drone operator goggles.

Face it, we do NOT have a reliable strategic counter to drone warfare in 2026. At any moment, we could face nine thousand 9/11-tier terrorist surprise attacks on American soil… and there’s not a Goddamn thing we could do about it.

Discuss the political implications.

I blame the Ukrainians and Russians. They’ve normalized this by abusing drones and posting the footage to TikTok like absolute psychopaths. Now every mentally ill sandnigger is just waiting until they get to use it on western troops.

I don't see the difference between a drone and a mortar shell. However, I saw the drones flying over moscow and they're laughably big loud and slow. One of them couldn't go a mile without being filled with bullet holes from the public.
Also, I find the entire idea that a drone carrying a small explosive takes out a tank, but whatever. History says you have to shoot tanks with shaped charges at many machs to defeat thick tank armor. Not just blow up a bomb next to one. But what do I know!?

When both sides have the same tech then you just enter a tit-for-tat conflict. Eventually this leads to both sides becoming willing to enter negotiations as they get sick of the retarded conflict that offers no hope for strategic victory for either side.
It just means the end of a power being able to beat enemies into humiliating submission. Which will actually give rise to real political solutions. That, or the retards just go into perma tit-for-tat warfare and we grind down into another dark Age (just with killer drones this time).

>The only threat are FPV quadcopters
But sure lets go with FPVs;
Go pattern a shotgun some time
Dispersion and drop are the largest issues
Even with specialized shells youre maybe touching 75m
Keep in mind youve got 3-7 seconds to detect, pull out shotgun, aim and fire effectively depending on drone size/weight. If its a hornet or the more advanced lancets they have terminal AI guidance and will just dive ~200km/h on you from ~500m. Please let me know how you intend to shoot that with a 50m shotgun.
>>537974283
Eh the phalanx rounds with self destruct are like $30 its not unfathomable. The issue is that the guns themselves have a short range and a small useful protective bubble.
>>
>>537974048
I think even that will be marginalised. Simply because the supplies needed to offer a costly defense are becoming smaller and smaller. You are not needing to transport vast quantities of liquid fuel, lead ammunition, etc. You just need to transport enough drones to various key points. And you can use drones to transport drones. You can even have local armouries producing the small explosives that go on the drones.
>>
>>537971201
Get good at drone simulators so that when you get conscripted for WW3 you can be the guy flying the drones instead of the guy dodging the drones.

Thanks, im glad nobody in russia/ukraine has access to google.
Modern drones like the Hornet have AI terminal guidance that keeps the target centered in its field of view using onboard computers. So by the time it enters the jamming range, its too late
>>
You counter then with your own drones

Nobody cared when the gringos were doing it. Seemed it only became a problem for the jews when the drone stopped costing 5 million and each missile a year's salary

Hezbollah have a way of firing anti tank missiles of drones, means they cant be thermally targeted and are lot harder to stop, air launched

The downed US F15 pilot apparently came out the other day saying he seen a jellyfish drone formation, most likely a mesh networked drone swarm, this probably operates at a quick area defense setup, essentially a flying minefield

drone warfare has done something we havent seen since the machine gun
its handed the ability back to all to conduct warfare
If jets can be nullified by air to air drones then no-one has to fear stand off munitions as much
>>

*Casually carpet bombs Muhamed's extended family tree*
Oh no! Anyway.

Seriously these things just "work" because we refuse to use known solutions for moral "reasons".
Drones might be cheap but it is literally a lot cheaper to leave it out and just drop the payload by the thousands.

There's a reason artillery is still king, drones are just good for propaganda via the FPV stuff.
And there is of course also an obvious reason why the poor and desperate shitholes keep resorting to them...

Well the would have to get the drones and explosives to America. The most effective drones (i.e. cannot be jammed) are optically wire guided and have a relatively short range. I am not saying drones do not present a problem but the retaliation from our F-16 would certainly discourage a nation-state from using this as their primary attack method.

>Quad on the floor
>>
>>537976273
Iran has been developing drones since the 80's
And they have managed to fend of the US and Israel
The air to air principle is easy and they already have what they need, heavier rotor drones for static defense and jet drones for targeted
All they need is heat seeking missiles because all jets systems are made to react to them from ground
When air launched it completely changes what options you have to defend
>>
>>537976547
...Managed to fend off... by facetanking the whole deal and losing their entire leadership and playing for time with negotiations... while still getting regularly casually sodomised by its enemies for breaking an unilaterally imposed ceasefire...?

This is what i mean when i refer to their propaganda being the only impressive thing.
The very fact that they are forced to play along to Trump's ceasefire is an act of submission, the harsh punishments suffered a humiliation each, the futile retaliations yet moreso.

No, anyone serious about opposing (((them))) has no reason to indulge in hope for such failures.

>Now that the dust has settled, what do we do about these fucking things?
Same thing as Kamikazes..shoot them down, and get back to armor.

~Armor forces drones to increase in size.
~Size forces drones to become more vulnerable, deteactable, and expensive.
~Making drones more detectable, vulnerable, and expensive...makes AAA systems more effective.
~THEREFORE.....investing in both armor & AAA effectively deals with drones on the modern battlefield. The key is to force drones into becoming far too valuable to be widespread useful. Kind of like countering tanks on the battlefield with AT weapons. It does not remove all tanks, but it addresses the problem of tank 'swarms' sufficiently.

>Shoot them
You look up and the sun is in your eyes... You see faint movement that looks like a fly. Then you hear the buzzing - finally audible to human ears, even when you take off your safety gunshot noise suppression earphones...

You know now this means that its at least 100ft from you.

Its being flown by a human operator, meaning it will catch you no matter what. You wonder in your final moments if you are about to be blown up from an attached IED, mortared from an air drop bomb, or shot from a mounted gun.

If only you could have seen it before it saw you - maybe the 1 to 2 shots you would have gotten in with a shotgun would have taken it down.

In medieval times people carried swords.
..Then people carried guns.
..Then people carried computers.

You brought a gun to a computer fight.

..And enemy watches you get annihilated on his smartphone.
