Thorium's half-life is about a century and the radiation's nowhere near as dangerous.Its ability to produce power is similar despite this.The radiation it does emit can be blocked with tin foil.A thorium reactor can be so small and light, that you could actually fit it in a car and not destroy the suspension or the road with its weight.
