I traveled a lot with my dad back in the day and the thing to remember is WGN was on standard cable almost everywhere in the US outside of NYC, LA, and maybe Miami. The really nice thing about that was being able to watch Cubs games every day no matter which shitty Nebraska or Kentucky motel you were in. That's why so many people across the country inexplicably knew Harry Caray and Bozo. Same shit I think with the Atlanta Braves, but ironically at home Mom wouldn't allow cable and we had to use the rabbit ears to tune into WGN.
