All the ones around here started letting in women. In the past, some halls had women's auxiliaries, but the women were never part of the order itself. Once women were allowed into the inner sanctum, lots of men decided they might as well stay home.

Think country clubs, cigar huts, golf clubs etc. the sort of place no money or prestige could get you entry. Invite only. Its probably also a matter that the alchemical science and symbolism it pushed in higher grades were looked on sceptically.

There was a big thing in the family years ago when his stepson got caught beating off in the middle of class. CPS got involved. An aunt swore that the father-in-law (kid's grandfather) was diddling him. Kid's mother cut off contact with her sister and her husband and swore it wasn't happening. But here's the thing. The father-in-law had a rep for walking around the house naked when she had friends over. I think he DID diddle the kid. I think the kid's mother clings to denial because her daddy gives her money and buys her thing. And my (ex) friend is just fine with it because he sees opportunity through the organization and his marriage to get money for himself. This guy charges his own son $1000/mo (probably more now) to rent a room and just uses that money to pay his own bills and not work outside of a couple short money hustles here and there. Total scumfuckery.
