What the FUCK is wrong with boomers?

>>538016747Boomer houses were made by real White American handsNew homes are made by Pablo and brown handsYou lost tranny
just get a better paying job moron
>>538016747>>538016857This means the new homes being built are smaller and/or in worse areas than the average existing homes./pol/ is so god damn terrible at interpreting data, holy shit. You're welcome, faggots.
>>538016901(other possibilities include new homes using lower-quality finish materials, smaller parcels of land, etc.)
>>538016901And whose fault is that, huh? Who EXISTED before us, HUH?
>>538016901From what I've seen with my own eyes, new homes are big and fancy and in new developments. No one needs to build new buildings in old neighborhoods or inner cities; they are already built.
>>538016747Because new construction is built on the smallest lots possible. Standard for older houses is a 1/3rd up to one acre which is unheard of for new construction unless you're in the top 1% building a literal mansion. All the value is in the dirt not the structure.
>>538016857They indeed were made better quality, and actually have a front and back yard. Family oriented.New homes are SHIT.
>>538017022>All the value is in the dirt not the structurefor mere Mutt shacks
>>538016960>From what I've seen with my own eyes...which is definitely an unbiased estimate of the 1.3 to 1.5 million new home projects started each year in the United States.
Location + quality of materials is lower. Thats why. Sure well sell you a house with chinese wiring, mexican drywall and dimensional lumber cut from quick growth trees that don't last anywhere near as long as old growth wood did in houses built 30+ yrs ago in a remote part of bumfuck bimblewoods for less.
>>538017475So you have a bird's eye view of the situation, and the reality is that more crappy, cheap homes are being built that big fancy homes?
I live in Italy. If there is a hint of asbestos (like in the chimney from the 70s) I'm fucked. Worksite has to be shut down, a sample has to be collected and sent to a specific site at the Local Health Authority for further analysis. That will determine how properly screwed you are and how long and how much you will pay to remove the artifact. If i make an under floor cavity i must test for radon emission levels. Above certain levels I must put a radon impermeable membrane.... Under the existing building. If i tear apart any previously installed system, than i have to rebuild that according the the current safety regulations. Current safety regulations include every possible risk imaginable by a human brain. Like i cannot install a shower head closer to 60cm from a washing machine or HOW MANY DOORS should separate the bathroom from the rest of the house. If you don't have the money to make your old house into a more energy efficient house, the municipality will increase your planning and developing fees to FUCK-YOU-UP level. And so on. NOBODY in his mind should restore and renew an old house.BUT OF COURSE every single politician who votes and has voted for any new regulation - complains about new buildings and the consumption of land for urban development.
>>538016901no. New homes are bigger than old homes. But basically all prime real estate (that isn’t used for things other than housing) has old homes on them. You want a 2500 sqft home 65 minutes from the center of Houston? That’ll be $300,000. You want a shoebox in Palo Alto? That’ll be $1,000,000.
>>538017475no I’ve looked into the stats on these. New homes are bigger than old homes. The median new build was bigger than the last every decade, until the 2020s when houses are being built smaller than the 2010s (but still larger than any of the 20th century numbers).
>>538016747KEK new homes are made of Styrofoam and particle board glued together by drunk beaners that leave their bottles of Corona inside the walls
Still too expansive.A look at Japans akyia tells you, the last thing you want in a territory with a demographic deflation is immobile capital like a concrete wood box, especially at the start of that devolution.
>>538016747The entire boomer investment is in real estate. They can't just lower the price or their whole life had no meaning.
>>538021056Then they die in their akyia eating cat food and their heirs, or the banks that get to deal with the misinvestment are going to dump it into a market that has no demand for it at 50-70% discount
>>538017828Very similar here, I was looking into renewing my parents' home. 50 years old, it basically needs all the energy efficiency stuff. There is also asbestos here and there. All in all, an on the fly quote was 800k CHF, mind you, it was built for 530k. Let's see what comes out when I get the actual quote.
>>538021409Not worth it. Dump it on the market asap. if you go for a 20% discount you should be able to find a greater fool that takes you that liability off your hand before the sheep realize the real estate ponzi is over. Else, well have fun investing probably more like a million chf into a depreciating "asset" and not finding anybody that even gives you 50% of what you invested in that crap
>>538016747They're lazy, greedy, thoughtless subhumans. It's a normal American condition.
>>538021803No shit niggers are winning, they don't see their own kids as competitions and lot of them actually help their kids.
Material science is on the cusp of a breakthru in China right now. They will start shipping pre-built million dollar mcmansions for $5K USD a pop. China will get cockblocked of course, but it will build up the Global South instead.
>>538022197No demandThere is nothing china can produce to dig its communist ass out of a deflationary demographic trend that makes Japan blush, an economic deflation that makes 19th century Europe look like a boom region and on top a monetary hyperinflation that makes Weimar Germany appear like it had austerity monetary policy
