I live in the west and I'm not sure I actually have any freedom. What is this freedom and how do I have it? Other than having easier access to guns I don't functionally have freedom of speech. Our media is tightly controlled by state aligned corporations. Our media consolidated and censored. Our government has the most sophisticated and all encompassing domestic spying apparatus ever constructed. Our elections are slowly moving away from verifiable in person ballots to harvested mail ins gathered in bulk by interests groups. What freedom do I have exactly ? How is this in any way superior to Russia for the average person? I agree Russia would be worse for an oligarch because even oligarchs can't go against Putin without consequences. But for an ordinary peasant it feels as if I'm no more free than the average Russian and in some ways I'm less so. Try saying something unpopular with our government like "Zionism is racism" and see how "free" you are
