go land on the moon again like you said you did 70 years ago. nasa is fucking garbage.
>>538081470The X-59 is a big deal because it means SSTs like the Concorde could make a comeback.
>>538081574Damn I'm glad we're going back to accomplishments we made in the fucking 70's.
>>538081470some rich faggot's hobby.
It's super cool but people are kind of worried about the economy and jobs.
>>538081574No lolMaybe shuttles but not on a commercial scale. Everything will be taken away from the average person and it's already happening.
>>538081470>they finally did it.
>>538081470>Hi everyone, I'm a dumb nigger thanks for reading my post lolBut in all seriousness, this has implications to supersonic air travel. One of the reasons it's not done is because of the sonic boom issue. I still don't see it being a thing because it will be less fuel efficient but whatever technology they have to reduce sonic booms seems like it should do something to reduce the pressure wave at the front of the plane and reduce drag possibly.
>>538081470A private company already did that like last year.Who cares
>>538082250Probably faked these new ones as well
>>538082582how quaint it feels to remember that people in the past actually looked forward to new and better things in the future
>>538081470a fucking private company has done this already lol nasa is a joke
>>538081574>Concorde coming backNo it fucking isn't and like that other guy said, hooray, we're doing shit that was done in the 70s when the world was white. Only another half century under Jew and brown management
>>538081470nasa is absurd. spacex is being hired to design the thrusters that will deorbit the ISS into the ocean because they can't do it themselves. they're in the business of handing out consolation prizes to women and minority groups KEK
>>538083619nasa came to my school. a nigger woman got up there and said she got hired to nasa with a 2.0 gpa and thus anyone can get in. the room fell silent a little bit. later on we got to talk to the industry professionals. i talked to her. i asked her what she does all day. she was acting playful and happy and stuff and said she's basically on the phone all day with spacex arguing about contracting prices. I was not impressed, and visually so.
>>538081574I doubt it'll make a comeback in commercial jets. The fact that they are using planes with extremely specific shapes to partially cancel out the sonic booms means that those shapes are unlikely to fit with the general expectations of passenger planes. If you can imagine the prototype in op's pic, but scaled up to passenger plane size, assuming it'd still work, you'd have an absolutely tiny cabin, a long ass nose of wasted space and I doubt much space for baggages, fuel, landing gears and such.
>>538082721>>>/wsg/6168559i made that to celebrate last space exploration success of world wide famous nasa space exploring entity
>>538084037In the prototype in OP pic there is space for a cabin with 5 to 10 comfortable leather seats, a bar and a lounge. This will serve the extra rich that will pay 200k dollars for an excursion fromSan Francisco to Bangkok. Trips will be offered to impress their friends and customers as well. Some billionaires can earn that sum within minutes. And the pr generated by this will be enough to pay off with a margin
