Why are all Southern states opposed to legalizing recreational marijuana? After Trump's move to reschedule cannabis from Schedule I to Schedule III and most of the Republican GOP for legalization why are so many states down South still reluctant to legalize it? Florida, for example, had a majority of voters support recreational marijuana in 2024, but it still didn't pass because the state requires a 60% vote to amend the constitution. Governor DeSantis there and many state lawmakers have continued to oppose legalization even though both him and Matt Gatez ran on legalizing medicinal cannabis in 2018. I don't really understand the resistance. A regulated legal market could bring in significant tax revenue, create jobs, and potentially attract even more tourism. Instead, a lot of the discussion seems to focus on concerns like the smell or public intoxication, which seem rather insignificant reasons to oppose legalization considering the benefits. Also isn't Alcohol more of a nuisance and danger to society than Marijuana? It's also a surprise that states like Idaho and Wyoming have marijuana fully illegal yet every other state surrounding them allows both medicinal and recreational marijuana. The trends seems to be in favor of legalization and if marijuana is Federally legalized at some point what will these states where marijuana is still illegal going to do than?
Idk
>>538092420bible belt retardation. (i think niggerjuana should remain illegal not because of religious conviction but because it's a nigger cattle pacifier being pushed by the ruling class to soften the blow of a rapidly declining standard of living.)
>>538092420>Florida, for example, had a majority of voters support recreational marijuana in 2024, but it still didn't pass because the state requires a 60% vote to amend the constitution. Florida already has legal """medical""" marijuana. A lot of people voted against that amendment to prevent weed tourism.
I voted to keep recreational niggers out of my medical dispensary. Not sorry.
