AI as it exists today is very limited because it relies on humans manually providing the ground truth to train the models, which is labor intensive, expensive and still error prone. What they ultimately want is a fleet of millions of robots that are interacting with the world, observing things, communicating with people, doing tasks, etc. so that the model trains itself in real time - and, all robots connected to the hive mind all benefit from the experience of one. They want an army (literally and figuratively) of hyper-capable slavebots that can replace all human labor. At that point, those that control the robots, control the world to an extent not even imaginable.
