When I do not use a female character as my profile pic I find it 10x harder to make friends online. If you're masculine at all people don't even message you. Showing humility and feminine energy right out of the gate is pretty much needed. If you're not a femboy or a female you're just a homeless bum to them. I think this explains the troon issue quite clearly because you can see a high density of troon population in places like VRChat as well. So in general, the more of yourself that you can spoof as a woman, the more maximal your ability to integrate into the social hierarchy is. I don't really know how we're going to combat this because we would need a concerted effort across the world to make it "cool again" for hairy dudes to be friends with each other again under the normal conditions. Like, when was the last time you added someone as a friend with a Master Chief profile picture. Never happens at all. The more we reward the people with anime profile pictures the more the troon problem will propagate.
