To be fair, Bach is the greatest musician to ever live. A more interesting question would be whether or not baroque is still better than classical even without him.

generally I like even earlier than baroque, more renaissance music as it's easier for amateurs to play. general "early" music.
recently started listening through the work of David Munrow who was an early music pioneer, but killed himself.

Bach's Chaconne in d minor, originally composed for solo violin, is one of the greatest pieces of music ever written. I've heard all the recordings by the great violinists and pianists, but recently I heard a performance on the koto that amazed me. It's now my favorite recording of this great work.
