The truth about AC is that we can't really afford it, I've let the ai run the math and it would cost me at least 10 euro each day / 300 euro a month to run the AC at 68F in a 1000 sq ft flat with average insulation (lol) in the middle of italy. Whole cooling season can easily reach one thousand euro total (and that's a good case scenario, lmao, easily several thousands if more m2 with higher ceilings and worse insulation or worse weather)and that's assuming the grid won't fuck me up or the landscape warriors from the government won't find my compressor box objectionable ( whaat? it doesn't look like a 1800s facade! we don't do that in germ- ops I mean in italy, some housing is really zoned like that).

>20°C inside
Idiot why would you want to experience winter in july?
Ideally the temp inside should be 27°C.
For each degree rise the cost drops down by 3% to 8% depending on efficency and outside temps.
So let's say 5% not too efficent AC and not too shitty.
300€×(1-5%)^7°C=209€.
This is how'll you spend if outside is 38°C constantly 24/7 you can also count in temperature flactuation, humidity flactuation, heat radiation escape at night, ac start and stop money saving, don't count bathroom, kitchen, living space, hallway.
You'll probably spend way less per month something around 100€
>but the kitchen and living room needs cooling
Then don't bitch about running cost exaggerating faggot

10 euro a day is nothing for comfort in your own home and you also wouldn’t be running it as cool at 68f

Brits have a handful of boiling days so the excuse doesn't hold. Mind you we have 0-2 so I'm not bothering because I'm poor

68F is crazy for summer, I set my heat at 68 in the winter, in the summer I set it at 72 only at night and 76 during the day. I would love to set it at 68 but I'm not sure it would stop running and then you risk it freezing up and then you're cooked for a few hours. Why is AC such a bizarre and foreign concept to you people?

Firstly you don't need 20 degrees celsius, 24-25 is perfectly fine, that alone will cut your expenses significantly.
Second you act as if you're going to be paying 300 EUR every month, when it's probably an extra 300 EUR once per season.
I'm outside of my home for 5 days a week for 9 hours, I leave the AC on a timer when I go to sleep, so realistically it's only working for 8 maybe 10 hours at most out of 24.
