There's a lot of work that needs to be done that the public and private sector can't fulfill in the current capacity. Mandatory civil service for working age NEETs would accomplish wonders. The civil service would give these people the skills, experience and confidence to later transition to a full-time job.
It really is a sad state of affairs. I wish to capitalize on the reality check many will be facing in due time.
