Appalachia should have more gondolas and chairlifts in general.
>>538190405and why is that glowie?
>>538190405The people of Appalachia are too fat. It would be too expensive to engineer lifts for them.
>>538190655the terrain is steep, it's a good way to get around safely and easily>>538191258kinda the opposite like its pretty easy to engineer stuff for bigger bodies you just make it wider
How about the rockies
theyr'e expensive. dirt road be carved into mountin by bulldozer, brrrrrrrr for a few days and you got road. much bette,r many such roads, very common.
>>538190655The glowie fears the hillbilly
>>538191804Hillbillies are just bongs with guns, they should fear them, especially Appalachia, strong British stock.
>>538191891Scottish highlanders, they would declare independence from your shithole
>>538190405Is that Pipestem? Comfy place.
>>538192048Is that not sky village / mt harrison at ober gatlinburg?
>>538191742doing a cable car is far cheaper than constructing a road. you fucking retard.
>>538192484u have to dig the road anyway to get in there with concrete trucks to pour the footings for your T posts, u ultra turbo city retard
I can't even buy cheer wine cans and I live within 3 hours drive from proper Appalachian mountains. >>538191891The funny thing is American South and especially southern Appalachia was populated by north English. Primarily. And some Scots and Irish. The American north east populated by south English. The direction reversal is really funny to me
>>538192564no you don't. have you seen where they put cable cars? they don't get trucks up there.
>>538191891How did King's Mountain end up for you?
>>538192627lolook at the picture, u see they made a little road up there? with switchbacks. NOt full highwya or permanent road, but enough for small tractors and construictioon eequiopemtn. tjeu also cleare dthe woods of trrees in the line, jkuist like if buiolding a r aod. the image tells the tale son.
>>538192786so how did they get trucks up the likes of this nigger?
>>538191641what a boring ugly place, didn't they run out of water?>>538191742expensive, but worth it, because you get so much more value, we could even have ones that run autonomously and people can just casually use them as transportation up and down mountains>>538192048yes!have you been?>>538192409I briefly looked at the available chairlifts in the smokies and it seems like most of them don't really go somewhere pretty or high elevation, am I wrong?
>>538192786>jkuistare you having a fucking stoke btw?
>>538191258or too fucked up on pills. theyd just strip all the metal overnight after its built and go back to their cycles of trash
>>538192723Let me check the names of the winners.William CampbellJames JohnstonJohn SevierFrederick HambrightJoseph McDowellBenjamin ClevelandJames Williams †Isaac ShelbyJoseph WinstonBritish names. We won.
>>538193064maybe in summer time with whinches
>>538193099Oh yeah we used to go one weekend every summer when I was a kid. Did the cable car a few times and saw the still they put there as an Easter egg. Went back s with some frens recently and did the swimming hole etc.
>>538190405that slope is plainly not in Appalachia because the trees look green and not brown and shitty
>>538194398Nigger what
>>538195138He's got a point. Appalachian plants tend to be dull green. Maybe I'm biased because I'm from Florida but our plants are vibrant green. There's a real difference especially if you head south.
>>538194057looked like you could swim right there and it was plenty deep like right where the gondola ended but did you walk to get to that?I know there's a trail along the river but the water was deep when I was there. I want to go back and hike to raven's rock lil overlook a bit above the bottom of the gondola. >>538195402In early spring the green is at its brightest. I suggest visiting in late april or early may (although not at the highest elevation those won't be green yet then).
.
>>538195542We we were kids the family took the gondola down to the Mountain Creek Lodge just to take the ride. There is also a trail from the main park down there but it’s a pretty strenuous 2 miles with lots of switchbacks. The trail down from the Canyon Rim reaches a ford and then it’s a short walk to that lodge. Mountain Creek is not accessible by road, so missing the last cable car in the evening means a long, dark hike. This is why we always stayed at the main Lodge although parts of it are like The Shining.
>>538195402Depends where you are, it’s quite green in the Shenandoah, but less vibrant in West Virginia especially the northern part. Not sure if it’s soil quality or something else.
>>538198006I stayed in a shitty cabin just down the road - maybe 5-10 min away, I wrote a negative review and less than an hour later got a phone call from a NY area code with a very jewish name asking me he could make my lodging experience right. It's that, the lodge, or staying in Hinton (pretty location but kinda a fail-town), or Beckley, bigger but somehow even worse. > There is also a trail from the main park down there but it’s a pretty strenuous 2 miles with lots of switchbacks. There's a trail to "heritage point" an overlook of the bluestone gorge but the reviews kinda say the overlook sucks and the photos are not super encouraging, i think the view from the top of the gondola is probably as good as it gets despite the wiresit does run until 10pm tho just somehow only wed-sun so I guess the lodge at the bottom doesn't host guests those sun-mon-tue nightit's 1200 ft to the bottom, would suck as a hike unless you just enjoy challengesdid you move away from wv?>>538198207shenandoah actually tends to not be as green cuz its in the rainshadow the greenest place is probably holly river state park and that area because they get so much more rain richwood is really green too
>>538192786kek are you ok ?
>>538198207I looked it up and it's the cost of having pretty fall leaf colors. Basically in Florida we don't get a winter and our plants don't drop their leaves. So they turn a slightly more vibrant green because they're going all out trying to grow 24-7. In the mountains the plants have a real winter to deal with so instead of going all out to grow all the time they have to plan ahead. They can't afford to go all out making as much chlorophyll as possible because there leaves are temporary and will fall when winter comes.
>>538190405Too few people to make a profit to maintain the gondolas. Also 1 in 3 people would disappear because of some weird crpytid
>>538192627You're retarded. There is such a thing as an offroad truck.
>>538198716maybe it shouldn't be about profit I think if it were easy to get up and down mountains with automated chairlifts everywhere up to easy views more people would visit
