Guys, I just downloaded Tinder. Am I wrong to avoid matching with Black men for casual sex?As a white trans woman, safety comes first in hookups. The numbers on trans murders are clear. Black trans women make up 60-78% of known victims, even though they are a smaller part of the trans group. White trans women are only a small share (~5-13%).In the few cases of white or non-Black trans victims where we know the killer’s race, Black men show up a lot (like 4 out of 6 cases). Most of these killings involve partners or people the victim knew. This matches bigger crime stats. Black Americans are 13% of the population but commit about half of murders. Per person, Black murder rates are roughly 8 times higher than White rates. The same pattern shows up in serious violence and partner attacks. One reason is genes. The 2R version of the MAOA gene (“warrior gene”) is very rare in Whites (0.1%) but found in about 5% of Black men. This gene helps control brain chemicals that manage anger and impulses. The 2R version works poorly, making it harder to stay calm.In one study of young Black men, those with 2R were involved in shooting or stabbing at a 50% rate. Non-carriers were at only 7%. This big jump helps explain higher violence rates in the group. These are averages, not every person. Plenty of Black men are safe. But for casual Tinder hookups with little info, the higher risk numbers make it smart to avoid. Data beats feelings for staying safe. Public meets and checks still help, but group stats give a useful warning.Am I wrong here, or does the evidence support being careful? Looking for real counter points.
