>>538207410good idea to lock up 8-10 hours of your day with a $15/hour labor job, so you're guaranteed to miss any recruiter calls for a job that pays $150k/yr or more. there's a reason why people like you work manual labor for a living.
>>538212020>i have no idea how you can have 25 years of experience as a software developer, presumably highly paid by virtue of having worked at top tier companies, yet be almost homeless after a year or two of unemployment?Same way you can be so awesome and have worked in an industry for 25 years and not a single former employer, co-worker, client, or anybody ever called to offer you a job. jobs are valued by scarcity. you've spent your recent career making sure that scarcity is massively diluted and someone with 1/10th of your ability can you 90% of what you can. what exactly did you think would happen next?same thing happened with motion graphics and now i've gone from making $80k to having to delivery boxes to keep the mortgage payments up, with the jobs i do get being paid worse than when i was a junior. i've accepted that what i made a living doing is now worth far less than when i started, but at least i didn't actively code it's downfall.

I worked in a major bank and I got to know the boss by helping him with a car accident. He helped me carry boxes when I moved apartments and later on when my carrer veered off of banking, he called some friends and got me a few interviews.

Look I work in Nipponland and I am very skilled. This breed of chud is completely useless. All the "cool" non economic behaviors this faggot has have no value. We literally over engineer everything over here and can't hire someone who does not have a specific skill set. "I can do blah blah" no bitch. I got hired after making LLMs, trainings models and my own foundational model, and doing all the full stack work. Even then it was not enough in the interview until I just "let's find something in my GitHub you can resonate with" and when I finally found what they could talk about (a full github actions pipeline for deployment of edge ML for Toyota) they finally got a little interested. Now my project is so central to so many domains I don't understand how this company has hired thousands on engineers and no one for this important project except me and the one junior I have working beneath me. It's hopeless for employees. With AI all the experience from before is basically worthless. The only thing that carries over is system design and a low level dev won't have that experience.

This story simply doesn't add up.
>>538213531>The guy is completely incompetent and had a string of jobs that he couldn't hold for more than a few months (probably because he is incompetent)?A software dev should be able to describe at length the systems they've implemented and combined, what architectures they've used, deployed products in the wild, etc. His resume doesn't read like that of an engineer and is more like someone who does computation/design.. I've never encountered anyone in the field who actually does that as some separate unique role that exists outside of coding - and that is what his resume makes it look like - moreover it is the coding part he is looking to get hired for (likely cuz AI has made the computation/design part irrelevant).. so from his resume he doesn't appear to have a strong coding background - he is trying to pivot over to coding from whatever he was doing previously..
>>538216024>government job>some vague "small business"so the short of it is that you've never worked a high paying white collar job in the tech industry, and you therefore have no idea how these types of jobs work with respect to recruiting.

AI has caused a lot of chaos and the industry is still in the process of figuring out how to handle it.. maybe he just hasn't managed to find a way to really use it to his advantage quickly enough.. took me a couple years to figure out how to handle AI stuff myself
>>538216121>>538216024>If this guy was worth a shit why has literally nobody who worked with him in the industry for the past 25 years called him to bring him on board at their company? because he wrote software for a living. this is like asking why a factory worker doesn't get a call offering him a position on the board of a manufacturing company. it's completely delusional. software workers are white collar factory workers who are subject to the whims of recruiting, industry trends, the broader economy, etc.
>>538207410this basically

>>538216121>so the short of it is that you've never worked a high paying white collar job in the tech industryNope, but I own a house on 10 acres, have no debt, could find gainful employment within a week or two, and am on track to retire within 5 years. >you therefore have no idea how these types of jobs work with respect to recruiting.I know the friends and family I have who do work in important white collar jobs get contacted by recruiters and typically have their choice of prospects when looking to change employers.Literally nobody who works in any industry for 25 years then becomes unemployable unless they're completely dogshit at the job.>>538216189>software workers are white collar factory workers who are subject to the whims of recruiting, industry trends, the broader economy, etc.Sucks to suck, I guess. I'm pretty confident the people who are worth a fuck in that industry are still employed and are still in demand, but if this guy's 25 years of experience left him unfit to do anything better that some 70IQ street shitter with a fake degree from the University of Mumbai can do he probably needs to re-think his career path.
