When I was in college in the early 2000s, being democrat meant being against the Patriot Act and the war in Iraq. A pretty straightforward position given how those things turned out. I took some sociology classes which were focused on niggers, faggots and trannies before those issues became mainstream and knew it was bull shit. At the same time, I had a restaurant job and was exposed to the stupidity of niggers and hispanics. By the time the 2008 financial crisis came around, I embraced the libertarianism of Ron Paul and Peter Schiff. I was tired of voting for libertarians who polled at 3% and voted for Trump in 2016

When the Russian/Ukraine war began and lefties on reddit started demanding we triple our military budget. I thought we were anti-war. They were also pushing the narrative that it happened in a complete vacuum and absolutely refused to acknowledge that there might have been events or history that lead up to this moment. It wasn't about taking one side or another, but just blindly accepting the mainstream US talking points as the gospel. Those were the two main things. There was also calling anything that remotely pushed against leftist narratives as russian bots and seeing how many people claimed Russia was collapsing every single week. Actually, another big one was the accusation of people parroting "Russian talking points", but you know, never calling it lies. Up to that point I didn't really pay attention to politics.
