Haida are an ethnostate off the coast of BC. I've worked with some in the past and they are pretty open about the fact that if they catch some white guy out there without permission they are shooting first. Though there are less than 10 thousand of them so they aren't really viable as a sovereign state. They will no longer starve to death, they will not torture or rape each other to death, illness get treated, they will not need defend their homes from anyone but themselves. They have everything their smarter ancestors wanted for themselves and more to ensure they would go on. They have survival assured and it is a question of where do they go from there? They are in perpetual idle hands mode. SO, some think money is great and open casinos, some think complaining is great and do activism. Some find Jesus and actually have a good life and good relationship to the universe. Hopefully they collectively are learning from watching the Israel tribe and how they interact with their surroundings and realizing that the best thing they could do is become a state themselves within the most free country on earth. In Alaska they don't have reservations, except for a very small one Metlakatla. They have corporations and the corporations are full blown capitalist investing in everything. The natives who have shares in the corporation are given dividend checks. If they buy a house in a town they own the house unlike a reservation where they own all the property.
