I’m just tired of this whole thing and I don’t know why we have to pretend any more. The Germans did the social engineering ploy that was the French Revolution. In Canada a mini split heat pump will pay for itself in a couple years even if you run the AC all summer with how much power it saves in the winter. That's before you even consider how much solar you can get during the summer. As far as I can tell heat pumps are just a net benefit on the grid if you require any amount of heating throughout the year.
