Trump's idea of an improving economy is your 401k/ brokerage account increasing. His voter base is boomers that already have a house and want to make sure they can still sell it at an inflated price. The only thing threatening home prices besides oil prices was the fed wanting to raise interest rates. He keeps putting pressure on the federal reserve members to lower rates so his economy looks good on paper. Rates should be rising even faster than they are right now so demand can drop for homes. This would then cause prices to fall and could potentially cause panic selling so people could sell before losing too much equity. Eventually this will happen just due to circumstance. The younger generation is about to inherit the economy in the next decade and the boomers are trying to dump them with their massive bags. Their only saving grace is that people want homes for their families.
