Probably biggest reason why russia struggled with this war is starlink. For four years nobody been able to counter this effectively. It's also the reason why the current russian gain has been slowed down and the midstrike problem they're facing now after elon shut them down. How do you stop it or what alternative do you have?

I should also mention russians also launched their own version recently. But that's measly 16 satellite launch and one of them went down. Compare to that china have fairly 400 of such satellite constellation.

Starlink was DARPA funded from the begging as a global communication system hard to jam.
Musk was just a cover.
>>
I guess it's hard to jam moving satellites. It's not that difficult to jam a geostationary, can be done by just entering the wrong frequency on a satellite modem.

Movement is just one of the issues. The real headache is the phased array antenna. When you try to attack it just null the signal to dozens of decibels from the attack site zone. Russians tried it with their garant system but it could only jam the uplink for 20km2. You need far more powerful single jammer unit to beat a single satellites nulling like the tirada2s but those are expensive and easy target for anti radiation seeking missiles and drones. Not mention they have multiple satellites in orbit. It used to be easier to jam user dish that relied on gps but now they use satellites own PNT system so that's also useless.

Hello Russian agent looking for ideas from more intelligent anons.
You cant do anything against starlink.
however, you could use strategic nukes against kiew, odessa, lemberg (tactical nukes wont help you much)...usa wont go to war with you over ukraine, and europe does not nearly have enough nukes to compete in nuclear war, so they will pussy out. If you dont have the balls to do what needs to be done, maybe you should just go home.

its easily jammed by jamming gps, moishe

You don't need gnss anymore for starlink dish.

It depends how much the adversary wants to escalate the war. The problem with Starlink is that's a US asset. Just like how a good chunk of their evergy that comes from Europe and a good chunk of their weapons are manufactured in Europe. Unless Russia wants to trigger A5, they can't target those assets.

That said, if a real hot war ever happens between Russia or China and the USA, I think they'll just nuke Earth's orbit.

Taking out all those satellites would do more damage to the US than taking out any base or carrier even if that means that Russia/China lose their own.

>inb4 can't go back in to space because of debris
Compared to losing a war that's hardly a issue.
>>
you blow up stuff at that altitude and ask the debris will fuck up the sats

Russia was using starlink for a while and they made lots of gains during that time.

Suppose Russia detonates missiles to take out everything orbiting over Ukraine and Russia, causing debris which takes out everything so no one has eyes over the two countries. What's the US going to do to retaliate? Take out Russian satellites? The Russians already blew up everything including their own orbiting over them.
