I wish I could grow a beard. I would keep it nice like his, I wouldn't let it stay all curly, unkempt, and far too long like beard guys do now.

Seems plausible

Because of the introduction of chemical weapons in WWI. You need to be clean shaven to have a proper seal on a promask, and that eventually led to a culture in the west of shaving for men.

They tried to bring beards back in the 2010s, but it just became an excuse for slovenly redditors to not practice personal hygiene and gained negative social currency.

i remember that. all these redditors in the military asking "why cant we have beards?" because it was the onions fashion of the time. moustaches have been common in the australian army for the past 5-10 years. in the 2000s i remember the trend was long sideburns down to the bottom of the ear. almost everyone in my unit had those myself included. i like moustaches although ive never worn one and i wouldnt grow one out now because of all the normie fags that have them.

Well it started primarily with the Romans to demonstrate affluence, continued as a cultural trend with the clergy (but inverted with the Orthodoxy) which made it associated with higher education.

Moustaches, beards, facial hair in general, are highly personalized and require some critical thinking. You can't just grow it without turning into a sóyack or a homeless man. This is why NPCs avoid it.

World Wars made it standard. You have to be clean shaven to fit a gas mask so when all the men got drafted, they all had to shave and it became normal
>>

Shaving used to require constant sharpening a razor on a leather stop, and even expensive blades dulled quickly. For most men, it just wasn't worth the time and energy.
Then in 1901, King C. Gillette of Boston invented the disposable razor blade that he could mass produce and can be simply thrown away once dulled. It was then by WWI soldiers needed a means to constantly trim down their facial hair to fit gas masks, and Gillette's dispoable razors did the job perfectly.

It goes in and out of fashion. Fashion has always worked that way.

Masonic ritual probably. Or maybe jews. Or both.
>>
>>538273238
to survive the trenches and chemical was rfare of WW1. gas masks need a clean seal on your face, otherwise youre getting the mustard gas.
>>
Use a DE safety razor. Once you get used to it its cheaper than Gillette multi-blade disposable razors and causes less irritation.
