YouTubers who live abroad will always try to clickbait people into thinking the country they're in is an alien place, though I never understood why Japan stands out the most. I don't see people discussing until the heat death of the Universe suicide in Russia, overwork in Mexico or declining birthrates in Bulgaria. It's always Japan even though these aforementioned countries have it worse. Personally, this has something to do with Japan soft power increase in the world in recent years. If fucking Somalia was a country with a huge soft power you'd see people discussing about Somalian pirate raids everywhere.
