Damn. Modern Christianity has really lost its way
>>
Jesus didn't command everyone to give up their possessions. Just the people joining his ministry.

I feel like Jesus's teachings and Christian nationalists should be switched.

Christianity gave itself up to moloch mammon and lucifer some 30 years ago. It's just a bunch of kiddie diddlers, yes the one in your exception to the rule, you don't see what the pastors deacons and clergy are doing in closed door meetings. They're swimming in stolen merchandise. Christians are Robbers but using spirituality as a cloak.

I am an Atheist and fully back the teachings of Jesus. I admire the community aspect of church dearly and realize the most compatible church with my idea life isn't a mosque or temple. I denounce both the Talmud and the Qur'an.

not in a D&C thread with the explicit purpose of dividing white non-christians from white christians based on the dataharvesting that says that's a point of division here

Man, the left really can't meme

It do be like that. Christian nationalism is incompatible with Christianity. They want Christianity without Christ.

is christianity proto communism:

>"And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”"
- Matthew 19:24
this story speaks of a rich young ruler, who asks jesus
>"[..] what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?"
- Matthew 19:16
and jesus responds
>"[..] if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments. [..] ‘You shall not murder,’ ‘You shall not commit adultery,’ ‘You shall not steal,’ ‘You shall not bear false witness,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’”"
- Matthew 19:17-19
that's it. a "rich young ruler" is allowed to be "rich" and "a ruler" under christianity. (something that the communists would condamn) he can even make it into heaven, so long as he keeps the commandments.

the issue here is that the rich ruler is not happy with this answer. he calls jesus good, while not considering him to be god (hence why jesus rebukes him).
so jesus tells him
>"“[..] If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”"
- Matthew 19:21
jesus offers him to become the 13th apostle. which the rich ruler rejects, because he prefers his wealth.
and this is where monks and nuns come in. people who dedicate their lives to serving god. it is not a path that every single christian has to take.

on taxation:

>"Now behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus who was a chief tax collector, and he was rich."
- luke 19:2
>"[jesus] said to him, “Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house.” So he made haste and came down, and received Him joyfully. But when [the crowd] saw it, they all complained, saying, “He has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner.”"
- luke 19:5-7
>"Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold.”"
- luke 19:8
jesus does not rebuke him, saying that he was to give 100% of his salary to the poor.
jesus several times summerizes the old law with
>"Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets."
- Matthew 7:12 (Luke 6:31, Matthew 22:39)
my interpretation is that Zacchaeus's logic is sound, as he treats others (50% of his salary) as himself (50% of his salary).
that might still seem high to some, but when you factor in taxes, church tithing, patronizing certain businesses over others, etc. it's not much different from the way most people live in christian countries today.

on luxury items:

>"[..] Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, and anointed the feet of Jesus [..]"
- John 12:3
>"But one of His disciples, Judas [..] said, “Why was this fragrant oil not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?"
- John 12:4
>"Why was this fragrant oil wasted? For it might have been sold for more than three hundred denarii and given to the poor.” And they [, the apostles,] criticized her sharply."
- Mark 14:4-5
>"But when His disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying, “Why this waste? For this fragrant oil might have been sold for much and given to the poor.”"
- Matthew 26:8-9
so how did jesus respond
>"[..] He said to them, “Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done a good work for Me. For you have the poor with you always, but Me you do not have always."
- matthew 26:10-11
