Uhhhh.... WHAT?
>>538437212We wuz equestrians an shiet.
>>5384372121600s came after 1492. Whoever wrote this article sucks at math.
Horses were originally native to the Americas
>>538437212Ai writes all the articles now and it gives zero fucks If you understand the high concept AI thinking You will adapt fleshman or parish
>>538437212Either the horses teleported from Eurasia, or they are referring to horses in Mexico being taken northward and bred.
>>538437212natives are really spanish mutts
Spaniards aren't Europeans, duh
>>538437349The Spanish sent advanced fleets of horses to conduct reconnaissance of the American mainland. The horse fleet got the the Americas, took one look around and then rebelled against their masters with the intention of starting their own nation.Unlucky for them the Spanish weren't having it, so they sent out conquistadors to round up the horses, execute the instigators/leaders and bring them back for punishment. If it weren't for the great horse rebellion the Americas might never have been colonised. It's true by the way, the article. A lot of natives actually married and interbred with the horse settlers and if you take samples of native DNA, you'll find even to this day, that some of them have equine sequences in there. True story.
>>538437349The headline is clumsy. The Spanish brought horses to Mexico and the locals started breeding them and selling them to other tribes, who in turn did the same, spreading the range of horses. Horses arrived in the Great Plains before European settlement of that area. But the horses wouldn't have been there if not for Europeans bringing them to the Americas. The anthropological angle is that natives figured out how to use horses for their benefit without Europeans teaching them.
>>538437349>decades before Europeans arrived.in the west of muttland, you fucking retard. i hate journos as much as the next man but at least read the fucking article.
>>538437359>analysis of DNA retrieved from remains of two Ice Age horses previously found in Alaska — one dating to about 26,100 years ago and another to around 28,400 years ago — showed no direct ties to later North American horses. Scientists generally suspect that wild horses first evolved in North America over tens of millions of years before dying out around 10,000 years ago. They existed but died out before Europeans brought in their own stock.
>>538437212>>538437349>by the 1600's>columbus landed in america in 1490'si mean, given 100 years, it makes sense.given 100 years (right before anglos landed on plymouth rock) the horses could've made up up north to the plains, especially if they ended up escaping early on and just ran.the pacific crest trail runs from tijuana up to canada, and it takes about 6months to finish, at a comfortable pace.i'm sure 1 horse can cover that distance easy in less time, since they RUN FOR HOURS AND ARE FASTER THAN MANwhat's the point of contention?>no, it's impossible for horses to move>no, horses didn't have maps to navigate the land for 100 years???did these people never actually pay attention in elementary school or are they actually just retarded?>>538439959true, spaniards come from south america, the moorish spaniards descend from the great chilean tribes of moar (spanish for more)the gypsy is right, once again.
>>538439527>or they are referring to horses in Mexico being taken northward and bred.obviously.the spanish landed 100 years earlier, and worked to establish colonies in the south (central and south america + north american west coast), so it makes sense that the anglos, which didn't land in the americas till the learly 1600s, didn't bring them.they're pointing out the obvious, which is, the first ones that landed influenced their environment, before the ones that landed at a later time:>what comes first is before what comes second.>what acts first influences before what acts second>one thing precedes another another>time creates a place for an act to manifest its consequences they're learning basic logiclife lives
>>538437212It just means that feral horses ranged widely, and many Indians saw a horse before they saw a white manSame happened with pigs and honeybees and probably other European domestic animals
>>538440640and lets not forget, cows
