I dont think that the west is christian, or that the wests multiracialism is because of its (nonexistent) christianity. In fact the west steadily became more racially tolerant as it cast off its christianity. The wests multiracialism seems to follow from the atomic concepts of the citizens, consumers, capitalists, and governments. It is very reminiscent of free trade. This was the idea that anyone who refuses to let british merchants sell them stuff should be invaded. When it invites africans to china for training and exchange programs, which is basic diplomacy that everyone back to the romans did, chinese lower classes become infuriated at these extremely unwelcome foreigners in their midst. I think it naturally follows that race (or at the very least ethnicity) and religion are deeply connected since ethnicity and culture are so deeply intertwined. Since Religion is a part of cultural expression (and yes, of course religion does have influence on culture as well, but it works both ways) then it stands to reason that ethnicity and culture, and religion are all associated phenomenon. Hell, even within the same religion you have different practices between different people. The Italians, the Greeks both have their own ways of practicing Catholicism, and then even within Roman Catholicism, the Portuguese, French, and Italians all have their unique twists. Associating race and ethnicity with religion is so obvious, it's kind of surprising that Christians don't have more to say about it.
