They were renovating the building from office to residential. They must have either made some major structural modification and it went wrong. They may also have stockpiled construction material and overloaded the beams. I’m leaning towards the first because you’d have to really try hard to overload a floor beam like that.

>probably new or majorly reconfigured elevators
Basically all you can save is the building structure and envelope. Everything else has to be totally reworked.

Structural will evaluate what happened and why. There would already be engineers who designed the renovation and they would be the first to get the call. The city will certainly have their own engineers out there, and probably a third party engineer, as well. The issues are

It’s still unknown what the damage really is. Reports of some buckled “beams” (really columns) are all I’ve seen yet. They were probably doing some structural modification that went wrong. It’s probably repairable, and it will probably take a very long time and cost a lot of money. Entire companies will go out of business over this and a lot of people will lose big time. All damage is repairable. The question is it feasible either in effort or cost. In NYC the answer is no.
Somewhere else maybe. It would require an analysis and an engineering team to design supports to lift the building back into place and support it until the structure can be repaired and/or replaced.

The USA has been coasting on buildings and infrastructure that we build 50+ years ago and refuse to update or replace because thats expensive. That ancient infrastructure is reaching its breaking point, so a lot of stuff is going to start hitting critical failure at roughly the same time in the next 10 years.
A plumber friend of mine goes all the time on how we're 10 years out from not having functioning newer systems in half the country because we keep putting off doing the replacements until they completely fail, and there literally are not enough plumbers in the country to keep everything working once it all starts to go.

Water can get behind the coating and cause rust for sure. But that alone wouldn’t cause multiple column failures.
>>538519311
It’s probably a combination of things. The main question now is were they doing major structural modifications or just an interior renovation?
>>

It’s only feasible to renovate buildings from office to residential with major government subsidies. Historic tax credits, HUD, something. Otherwise it’s just not economical.

>>538519575
Well, there's another way to go about it. Force office buildings by code to create floor supports, sewer and water availability that would enable a simpler transition. That could reduce the number of firms who can afford, and reduce the design options, which I suppose is also a bad thing. It could also give a nice niche to certain arch and building firms.

It can be fixed. The price depends on how bad it is. Maybe its a junk beam and gave under a load it should take. basically all skyscrapers swing in the wind. the super tall ones have to build active countermeasures to this or people would get sea sick.
the steel is moving all the time. from wind and temperature. if you wait for long enough all the tall building will fail like this, effectively nothing from our era or generation is likely to survive into the future. its all so fragile it will all turn into dust. see thats why the pyramids are so genius. they can not collapse, their natural state and their collapsed state are the same, thus they last thousands of years.

I’d be really interested to see how they justified adding all that extra load to the columns and foundations. I do this stuff for a living and even adding a single floor is something that is very carefully considered.

>Most development construction projects are just barely profitable as it i
The cost is on the buyer, not the developer. Market bears what market bears and access to the US east-coast within walking distance to the port and all of NY will bring buyers.
I think more likely, for a time, you'd see simpler structures. Someone would want the location enough to match it. And once it's there, the extra sound proof and floor security is also a selling point. You can have your entire floor screaming about the market and the people above and below can't hear a thing. Toilets abound so the boss can powder his nose with the secretary in any number of hallways.
>>538520783
I'm not dodging, the partially closed structure worked like an open air furnace, the fuel burned in a contained space. The bodies of the passengers and their goods burned, and I have no idea what was in the freight section.
If you want to argue the point, I have zero doubts that the US (((banksters))) hired Mossad boys to finish up some work in the ME; to hook the US on the Israeli drip.

Nigger, I said nearly and thats by itself. What every single video you've watched fails to include is the concrete oven the fire was in.

Here, why dont you walk us through a scenario where we look at thr change in ambient room temperature with an active fire. DONT use ai, youll just say that its programmed to lie. Use your own numbers for starting ambient temperature, fire temp, and room size. This way you can prove it to yourself.
>>
