Trades can be great money. But you need to control your revenue stream. Don't ever work for a wage unless you're actively learning on the job in a useful way. Sub-contract at the very least as you can, but your goal should be your own contracts.Learning the industry rates for your trade and how to create a reasonable estimate are the major hurdles that you will face, beyond developing competence of course.
