First day in Melbourne from Auckland NZ and I am disappointed that there was this meme going around in media and online that Melbourne is so unaffordable to live. Literally the first supermarket I walked into and these are the prices (Pic related)>2 fucking Kilograms of chicken drumsticks for $7.29 ($5.04 USD)>250gram rump beef steak $7.00 AUD ($4.84)and this is in the city. Basically $64 AUD got me enough to live on for well over a week. THats about 2 hours of a minimum wage job here in Australia to pay for over a weeks groceries. I know the rent is crazy high but im just talking about the grocery prices. In Auckland this would be 2-3x the price.Also guys, Melbourne is noticeably whiter than Auckland or London, and a massive city. There is still Hope.
