Was the Russian Invasion of Ukraine the greatest military and strategic blunder of the 21st century?
>>538568793it was until 2026 when the US/Israel attack on Iran became an even bigger blunder.
>>538568960You’re retarded
>>538568793Just another occasion of oopsie why did the west suddenly get attacked ha-ha guess we rule the world in self defense now :^)
>>538569171Clearly not as retarded as trump and hegseth
>>538569171at least Russia captured some land, what did USA capture?nothing, they ruined the world economy and their own and their bombing campaigns didnt achieve anything.
>>538568793Not nearly as bad as the failed US invasion of Iran.
>>538569171>no argument>y-your-re r-retardedKYS faggot.
Yeah, though it was caused by the West doing basically nothing when Russia took Crimea. So in Putin's mind, this signalled they're such cucks, he could just take the whole Ukraine, no problem. They'd just strongly condemn and apply sanctions.Typical greedy midget solving his manlet problems through this sort of macho posturing, because when he was young he was a nerd who was the butt of everyone's jokes
>>538568960Iran war is a nothingburger compared.
>>538569605>at least Russia captured some landdid they tho? and if they did, will they be able to defend it?
>>538568793no, it was the most powerful gigacounternahruyk in 2023 which hohlapidars and budanoffpidaras memoryholed in their propagondonium and of course 2 hours (not) military operation of muttoid states of shitholes against Iran
>>538568793You have to consider what the alternative was. In 2022, Ukraine was about to start mass production of cruise and ballistic missiles. Arguably, Russia's real mistake was not resuming production of intermediate-range missiles sooner, and not launching the full scale invasion of Ukraine sooner. Many of those arrows are not related to the Ukraine war. Russia has been on the back foot constantly since the 1980s; this is merely a trend that continues. Armenia has been "weaning itself of Russian influence" since Pashinyan took power in 2018. Nothing has really changed in Moldova. There's nothing Russia can do more or less about Cuba or Venezuela than it could before the war; it's on the other side of the planet.
>>538568793It would have been if not for the US war with Iran. Russia at least had a strong opening move and grabbed a lot of land even if it turned into a shitshow after that, and they continue to fight it and may very well win in the end even if at great cost.Within 48 hours of starting shit with Iran we knew that we had royally fucked up. Our only 'victory' in Iran was killing their leader and replacing him with the guy's more hardliner son. Everything else has been an abject failure: we lost bases across the region, the strait got closed setting off a global crises, the kurds decided they were not in any great rush to die for empty american promises again, and the sole reason we got into this war (to protect Israel) has been a failure because Tel Aviv has gotten bombed to shit since this started and the iron dome is broken.Russia accomplished a decent amount of its strategic objectives in Ukraine, the hard part is getting Ukraine to let them keep what they have taken. The USA didn't accomplish shit in Iran other than throwing away billions of dollars of hard to replace military hardware and sending the economy into chaos.
>>538569832Iran’s leadership, economy, and military got BTFO
>>538573307Oh, forgot to mention: Russia could perhaps be forgiven for having underestimated the modern drone war landscape and how the old military tactics were no longer viable. No major military had run into the drone warfare problem this hard before and learned that lesson the hard. way. By 2026, there was zero reason for the US to make the same mistake. We had all of the evidence we ever possible could have asked for regarding how drone swarms had changed the face of modern warfare, but we make the same mistake anyway. No excuse there except for incompetence.
>>538573407Have they? Seems like they got a bloody nose but its all still functioning fine. They lost one leader and quickly replaced him. Closing the strait hurts us far more than it hurts them. And militarily, if their military was BTFO they wouldn't still be sinking ships and bombing Israel. Seems like the bar for being 'BTFO' is set so low as to be almost meaningless. Meanwhile, the US was forced to withdraw from 13 military bases in the region after Iran bombed them, giving up territory and removing our forward operating capability that we would have needed if we wanted to continue the war in any serious capacity. THAT sounds a lot more like being BTFO: we had to run away, Iran did not.
>>538568793yes so far
>>538568960Trump can't stand someone else having the biggest anything.
>>538568960>US killed: 16 (half from non-combat accidents)>Russians killed: estimated to be about two hundred thou-YOU DON’T KNOW FOR SURE!!! THOSE ARE JUST FOREIGN ESTIMATES AND UKRA-NAZI LIES! SHOW ME THE BODIES!!
>>538568793>the greatest military and strategic blunder of the 21st century?America starting a war with Iran must be up there.
>>538568793The War on Iran is worse because it affects the whole world. The Russian invasion only affects the EU and the US.EU is slowly dying since they're paying Ukraine billions of dollars for no good reason. The Nord stream sabotage not triggering NATO's article 5 against Ukraine makes it even more stupider.
>>538573307>Everything else has been an abject failure: we lost bases across the region, the strait got closed setting off a global crises,Harry Harrison - Why interplanetary wars are impossible.
ukr_pics threadYou will never be real women, you wile, revolting tranny freaks.
>>538569785I mean 13 amerigoys died vs 1 million minimum death and handicapped ziggers. Also US is selling more oil and gas than ever while ruzzians are running out of BENZINAnyone has the ruzzian thot video about benzin? wanna see it
Nah, the biggest blunders were the occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan which were both strategic losses at incredible cost
>>538568960fpbp
>>538568793That or USA bombing Iran. Both are on the same level of stupid since war isn't just about having the bigger numbers and fire power anymore.
>>538574678like 4K soldiers died in 10+ years of iraq. The same amount of ziggers die every 10 days kekarooo
Could you imagine then that Europe would commit suicide by deciding to subsidize Ukraine for the war?
>>538568793Their blunder was starting a half-assed war, relying solely on a surprise element that was non-existant, and then refusing to declare a total mobilization to overwhelm the ukrops, and also not striking NATO's logistics deep inside NATO territory, effectively giving Ukraine a 100% secure rear that could pump money and weapons unperturbed.
>>538574850America spent trillions of dollars so the taliban could take back Afghanistan and Iraq could fall under Iranian influence. Complete disaster. Financially and strategically
>>538575158i don't think iraq and afghanistan have harmed the usa as badly as the future oinkraine military operation fail
>>538574509It do be like that. Drone warfare has, for now, created a cheap defensive advantage that is so strong that it makes invasion extremely unattractive as an option. You can only hope to accomplish limited, short term goal and then book it home. The problem in Iran being that while the US is in a position to do that (we can bomb a bunch of shit and then leave, putting ourselves well outside of their ability to fire back) Israel has no such luxury. The only way for the USA to extricate itself from the war is to leave the region entirely and leave Israel to its fate. Which makes military and economic sense, but is political suicide due to Aipac funding. It may, however, eventually be forced to happen anyway simply because they can't campaign contribution their way into an alternate reality where the war in Iran ends some other way.
>>538575345Russia was a shithole before the Ukraine war and will remain one after it's done. America was doing amazing and then the inflationary spending of the GWOT undermined the economy and was the beginning of an era of stagnation economically and culturally. We would've been massively better off it we hadn't thrown literally trillions of dollars in a hole and burned it.Actually burning it would've been better than the GWOT because that money stayed in the economy and in the hands of crooks
>>538575158Yes, it was. But the Taliban weren't hitting cracking towers on the gulf coast with cessna drones.
didn't they get fucked in africa somewhere too
>>538575345The War on Terror is the source of america's massive ballooning debt, and the massive expansion of the executive branch's power into authoritarian territory in the interest of 'fighting terrorism'. Division on the war on terror is also where the gulf between the Left and Right in america started to really split apart in a major way to the point that catering to extermes became more beneficial than compromises between viewpoints, which lead to the current political landscape where every fight is to the death all the time. We wouldn't be magically in a utopia in a timeline where we didn't lose our collective shit after 9/11, but there is a lot of bad that directly stems from the war on terror and how we handled it.
>>538568793We’ll have to wait and see if the Iran slap fight is still flip flopping in a few years.
>>538576223>terrorism usa>hesbolla israel>nazis russia>russian invasion ukraineincoming>continuous russian threat to security of Europeand technically all of this not a lie (and a lie), this is 50 shades of greyupper 4 was successfully sold to populationand knowing humans stupidity fifth will be sold too
>>538568960this. america #1 was not to be out done by russia
>>538568793Ant war that focuses on annexing territory is going to have a huge cost of time, resources, and men
>>538568793They'll still get to Poland tho. And you can't fucking stop it
>>538574678Iraq was a victory by any measure. Afghanistan, meh.
>>538568793It will be the first major war where a first world power actually expands their territory in what 100 years all the while snipping nato in the bud. I don't think it will be considered a failure in retrospect. Could it be done better, I guess so but wins a win.
>>53856879350% (more now) of ru elite are ethnic Ukrainians. 20% jews30% mixed people, semi jews Ukrs 100% of their families lives in west. Together with Ukrainian elitesWhat else do you expected?
>>538569171Uh oh migger melty
>>538568793>Moldova is now firmly pro-WesternI can't comprehend American stupidity. What would even the point to rectify? How much time and effort would be required? To what "level" should I stoop to begin the teachings? It's all so tiresome.
>>538577932Retarded eurocuck
>2 solid weeks of "here's how Ukraine could still win" posts outside the designated general threadsAnd this is a sign of strength? Who are you trying to convince.
>>538577973
>>538578553is this article about US EU donations to Ukraine?
>>538568793Nope, Russia fucked up but at least got some Ukranian territory and are getting more everyday.Amerisharts got absolutely nothing for their shitfest in Iran besides killing little schoolgirls, in fact it would have been actually better for mutts to just do nothing since the strait was open before the war. America just showed that...They can't defend their gulf allies and if they had to choose between them and Israel, mutts will threw them off the cliff.Their whole weapons industry is a scam to get money because in a real battle their stuff is overpriced shit. The whole "Iranian protests" were a glowie fuck up.And also threw their "good guys" reputation in the trash by defending Israel actions in Lebanon and Gaza (Israel killed far more civilians just in these few months than Russia in during all its war)
