Anybody else feel like an economic calamity is on the way in about 6-12 months?

>47% of the median American family's income now goes to owning the median priced home in this country. That's the share the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta says it takes at today's prices, at today's mortgage rate of 6.47% and it's the worst reading on record going back to 2006.

I'm not sure how this is going to play out because we don't have the egregious credit swaps of the 2007 crisis or the over leverage credit of that time but the valuations are way out of line and this isn't sustainable simply because people can't afford it.

An economic collapse this year is a foregone conclusion.
Due to the outbreak of war in Iran, fertilizer prices have skyrocketed. Europe, the United States, and India have missed the spring planting season. A decline in grain production is inevitable. During the fall and winter, international grain prices will rise by at least 30%.
Meanwhile, months of rising oil prices have already left many small countries facing fiscal collapse.
The AI bubble is about to burst. U.S. tech companies have discovered that AI computing is a money-losing proposition.
Trump is an idiot; he intends to continue the war.
This collapse will be “Great Depression 2.0” and will destroy the entire U.S. stock market and Treasury bond market.
You need to convert your U.S. dollars, stocks, and Treasury bonds into tangible assets.
Gold, food, solar panels, and even firearms.
These items will help you weather this economic disaster.

No, I don't "feel like", I know
It will probably kick off some time after the OpenAI IPO
The entire US economy is dependent on the failing petrodollar and being artificially propped up by means of the AI bubble

The problem is basically that there's way too much synthetic value in circulation. It just isn't concentrated in one asset class like in the subprime mortgage crisis - instead, we are looking at a broad-based and extreme mispricing across the entire economy, from private equity portfolios to major stock market indexes. Those indexes are overdue for a correction anyway, but the massively overhyped AI narrative is likely to drag blue chips significantly below their fundamental fair value. ASI/AGI is not coming; the whole story is essentially a speculative scam. btw these datacenters are not being built for some happy Star Trek future, but to enable more effective control over an increasingly restless and angry population.
On top of that, we have no visibility on how this Iran escalation will resolve, the petrodollar regime is visibly eroding in real time, and Americans are behaving like the dog in the burning-room meme, pretending that “this is fine.” Once the U.S. equity market reprices sharply, it will transmit shockwaves through a wide range of asset classes and real economies globally.
My assumption is that this is at least being tolerated, if not actively engineered, to create the pretext for harsher and more centralized regulatory frameworks on a global scale.

Private security firms are the kind of thing to consider starting investing in. As long as rich boomers still have too much money even in a collapsing economy with rising prices, some of that will trickle down. There will be a struggle between private security firms and organized crime / vigilante gangs to offer that "security" to the ever-shrinking group of remaining "haves"

This will lead to across-the-board price increases for meat, eggs, and dairy products.
Without corn, you can’t feed pigs, chickens, or ducks; without fodder, you can’t feed cattle or sheep.
This alone will cause meat prices to skyrocket.
Soon, you won’t even be able to afford eggs.
>>
>>538571254

It’s unlikely to have much of an impact, since China is also one of the world’s leading fertilizer producers.
Moreover, our neighbor Russia has more grain than it can consume.
When international grain prices rise, all we need to do is release our stockpiles.
Moreover, the Chinese government does not import grain for human consumption; it is mainly used to feed pigs.
Even in the most extreme scenario, the only consequence would be that ordinary people would simply eat less meat.
The greater risk actually lies in the AI bubble in the U.S. stock market, which this time has triggered a financial tsunami.
Our banks have already pulled out, converting a large volume of financial transactions into cash.
Because they know this stock market crash will destroy everything.

Bro, you don't get it.
China imports grain not because it has to, but simply because it makes more economic sense.
Even if not a single grain of food were to enter China, there would be no famine here. That’s because we have no shortage of food for human consumption.
In the worst-case scenario, pork prices would just go up.
Even if we really needed to import grain, we could still buy it from Russia, Brazil, and the United States.
Grain prices would go up, but that wouldn’t matter to ordinary Chinese people.
The ones who would really suffer would be the countries in the Middle East and Africa.
They would immediately face famine because they couldn’t afford to buy grain.
Without grain, war would follow.

The United States is a major grain producer; if it wants to control grain prices, all it needs to do is stop exporting grain.

The great fall is inevitable, it began long ago. If AI fails, it will destroy the global economy. If AI succeeds, it will destroy the global economy with mass unemployment and energy scarcity. Wealth concentrates endlessly in the hands of elder tyrants that bring nothing but rent seeking to the world. The working class has been told to accept replacement by immigrant labor and AI, and they are expected to give the world to employers that refuse to pay enough for one to live in a studio apartment.
The status quo is unsustainable, and the hubris of the elites has them believing they are invincible gods. Society has been unmasked as a malicious entity operating under the guise of a social contract that has been obliterated by the greed of the elites. Mankind has been divided, but it shares a collective rage that points to the top, regardless of political affiliation. The world has reached a breaking point and it is overdue for failure.

The great fall will bring deviation and despair to the entire world. But fear not dear friends, for the tragedy of the great fall will bring us the opportunity to punish the architects of our misery and rebuild a world that works for the people.

>How is China's agricultural sector so fucked that they can import grain for cheaper than they can grow it themselves?
That’s not the case; it’s simply because we raise too many pigs.
And pigs need grain to gain weight.
But it’s unacceptable for pigs to compete with people for grain.
In 2025, China slaughtered 700 million pigs to feed its 1.4 billion people.
Pigs consumed the vast majority of imported grain.

This is because OpenAI believes that if it goes public this year, its valuation won’t reach $1 trillion.

OpenAI can’t reach $1 trillion, and even if it postpones the IPO until next year, it still won’t be possible.

>The UNIT is a digital benchmark settlement currency developed by the BRICS alliance for cross-border trade.
I’ve heard of this; I like to call it the BRICS Coin.
This was created to prevent a situation like the “petrodollar” crisis.
The U.S. made the dollar so strong that it could be used to buy anything anywhere in the world.
As a result, this destroyed American industry, because the cost of manufacturing products in the U.S. became prohibitively high.
The BRICS currency was created to prevent the kind of industrial decline caused by the appreciation of a country’s own currency.
You can only use this currency in international trade, thereby avoiding the crisis caused by excessive appreciation of the domestic currency.

wrong first of all, secondly it's a completely different context, the potato famine was about mold infecting potatoes and making them inedible, aka a destruction of domestic production, the point is that china produces enough food for itself and that hasn't changed
global markets don't exist if you ban exports which china would do in a global food shortage in a split second

I have no doubt that China would impose export bans; its government actually cares about its people. That simply isn't going to happen in the USA and Europe, though, because mass famine and death is the entire agenda.
