My employer gives us 20 sick days a year and any sick days that don't get used up just roll over for the rest of my working life. I can also use these sick days if any of my immediate family members are sick just to help provide care. So far have almost 200 sick days banked. It gives me a sense of security, if I or one of my kids becomes seriously ill we'll be fine. And even if I did end up using all my sick days it would be fine because my employer would just put me on a long term leave and just pay me a discounted rate.
