Trump always just wants to be on the side of whoever he thinks is winning. This bit him re: Iran-Israel where that backfired badly. But it really does seem like Ukraine is winning the war of mutual economic destruction since Ukraine doesn't really need an economy Europe will supply it while Russia has to supply itself. Russia's only option now it seems is to try to scare the Euros out of supporting Ukraine, but I doubt it'll work most frontline states will happily eat some Russian missiles and drones if it means the destruction of Russia as a menace for decades at least.

Russia will 'win' the war in the sense it will finish with more land than it started with.But it will have paid a truly massive price for it. Worse losses than afghanistan, which led to the fall of the soviet union. And russia today has far worse demographics to ever recover. Im betting we see a further balkanisation of russia within 10 years.
