And I fucking hate my life. Remember "learn to code"? Well I did. Thanks a lot.

How mich is your salary anon?

Unemployed

>>538601982
STEMcels can do any job but they would rather be unemployed than do jobs they see as beneath them.

Every job is following a set of rules or an algorithm at it's core. And who better understand algorithms than stem students specially a computer science grad?

I didn't study for 4 years and spend 80,000$ just to work at a fucking grocery store

AI isn't even real. It's exactly the same as the random face generators that just take pre-existing photos and throw you a random. It's all a lie.
>>
>>538601982
This is why we need millions of Indians to beat China!

Exactly. It's humiliating because stemcels have too much ego
>>

Lmao just get into Medicine, Civic Engineering or anything that actually requires Math.

I am currently studying on my Nuclear Physics paper.

>>
>>538601982
Well, I certainly didn't tell you to get into a meme program on the idea that flooding its market sector with new workers was a good idea.
>>

real coder here
i feel for you. computers and programming are annoying to me even though i spent over 20 years obsessed with them
must be terrible to have tried to force it when there was no fanatical level of interest behind it
my recommendation is to cut your losses, or try to combine what you know with some other talent

I’ve been in IT for 20 years. There was always retards that pushed shit code, but usually they’d get better after getting scolded a couple times. Worst case Ontario they didn’t and then they’d just get shit canned and that was the end of that. Now these same shitters have AI to generate code that sorta looks OK at a glance since AI is good at imitating other good code, but once you start peeling the layers you start saying the absolute slop. The worst thing is the shitters are turbo charged now too. You’ll get several thousand lines PRs to review that took them 30 minutes to generate while it will take you hours to review. It’s shifting the burden to you to ensure it’s not shit. Well fuck that, I just approve shit without even reading it, I care about as much as the people generating that slop in the first place.
>>
I interviewed for a guy who previously was a cobol programmer for an oil refinery. He decided that running a fireworks store was a much better use of his time.

Genius. I’m trying to find something like that, or just do consulting or something that doesn’t require dealing with other people’s shit code.

If you got this degree recently, how the fuck did you not see it being owned by AI? Are you retarded?

kek I remember all the STEM peddling on 4chan years ago. Those fags are all working at starbucks now. You dont see those female influencer videos dancing in google's cafe anymore either. None of it. Nothing.

I've been coding for almost 25 years and AI is like being handed the cheat codes. Now one person is able to instantly be able to be their own coding company instead of just one programmer. If you are fluent in the jargon these genAI bots can make programs that have inhuman levels of design complexity, and extremely quickly. I really do expect technology to advance exponentially as more people start using these new tools to their full capacity
>>
>>538603530
I use it, I just don’t let it think for me or walk away while it shits 5,000 lines. It’s an alright tool, people are just retarded, as always.
>>
>>538603530
Sounds like bullshit.

what kind of computer shit can you do

I warned you about this dumpster fire of a career 6 years ago. You didn't listen.

If you have the intelligence/dedication to get an entry level tech job these days you're really selling yourself short by going into this field.
>>
Canada was also the canary in the coal mine for how bad the coding field could get. Unironically people in technical sales are clearing 3-4 times the salaries of the code monkeys.

Anything technical is getting outsourced/insourced via immigration. Canadian companies just need a good looking face to sell the AI slop that's being churned out by overseas teams.

>>
>>538601982
did you forget how to learn? coding requires organization and oversight/management of how different systems interact/interoperate. sounds like general troubleshooting skills and some managerial skills right there.
>>
I understand the logic behind coding but I am too dumb to actually learn the language. Anyone else in this situation? I can completely understand what functions do and the line of action they cause, but, if I had to write something myself I wouldn't know what the FUCK to do.
>>
i got a stem degree too. graduated in 2022 from state uni and make over 120k a year now. live on eastern shore near big city not NYC.

you can do stem and still make it you just have to not be a retard. people think getting a stem degree even pre-AI meant you were smart. this is a totally false assumption as there were many blithering retards in my classes that managed to pass with Cs or even Ds. stem was bloated even before all the indians and AI took our jobs, so you still have to be decently smart

I remember 10 years ago every faggot here was talking about how you should learn to code otherwise your job would be automated. Turns out the easiest job to automate is programming, since it's done entirely within a computer, so now coders are being replaced by AI. Meanwhe we're still decades away from having robots that are capable of performing a physical medical examination or even doing commercial cleaning. Life is funny sometimes.
>>
>>538607383
i am primarily an RF engineer but after a few decades of this shit i am, by necessity and not by choice, somewhat of a network engineer now too. if you keep getting immersed in the shit eventually you pick it up even if you don't want to. i miss the field work
>>
>>538607510
I actually think the easiest jobs to automate are upper management, but it'll happen last because those are the people who decide what gets automated and they want to keep making money.

You know Medical is part of STEM right?

science technology engineering medicine right?

My father told me he wanted me to be a Doctor, because Doctors are needed everywhere in every country in the world after some Flipino told him he was studying to be a doctor. Or something. the point is he was Asian and wanted to get his degree in India or somewhere with less requirements/bullshit.
Also, "Hole Ingeniero!" nepotism wasn't respectable. Lawyer was getting yourself into trouble. We had an entire talk roasting degrees and how to make it without entering into a world we didn't like or getting into trouble.
If I couldn't hack it, I should study accounting or never leave the Bank or Grocery store.

you are a fucking idiot manchild who isn't grateful for having a job, ready to climb the corporate ladder, or any kind of shit involving being an adult or ambition.
If you worked at the supermarket, your balls would tingle just thinking how badly you fucked up sending those $80,000 eighty thousand day in day out to learn some useless worthless meme degree you can learn free on youtube.

speaking of stocking vegetables: computer hacking and fighting the man never fed anyone anything to eat. is a new field, etc everything about it screams meme. you are an idiot, or your father was

you could be a fucking nurse, wiping an old person's ass right now but no, you decided you were white Mr. master race.

I'm glad, happy you filtered yourself out of the gene pool. never get a woman. unless your daughters are gonna come out bitching and you're a good enough parent they never fuck niggers
