My podiatrist, an old White guy, is retiring and we were discussing me possibly needing surgery for my foot but him not being able to do it before he retired. He recommended two doctors he had worked with. Both were women. Both were younger than me. I basically had to spend an hour closely vetting both before finally picking one (I went with the ugly one, with the thinking being, an ugly woman will need to work harder in life than a good looking one, so maybe she's the more capable one). It's just very disheartening that doctors, people you are supposed to be able to trust, have become so untrustworthy.
