Automatic gearshift as the shittiest example to bring up. Someone who know manual will learn to drive manual cars in 5 minutes. Someone who doesn't know manual gearshifts will struggle like I did at the age of 17 when I first learned to drive.

If you only ever drove automatic, then you don't know how to drive. It's like riding a bicycle with pic rel.

Column shifters are pretty comfy

I bought a car with fancy paddle shifters and an 8 speed transmission and I don't know how to work the auto lever there. I just leave it in race mode and shift with paddles.

"learning" to drive automatic after driving manual comes down to remembering to keep your left leg the fuck away from them pedals

If you hit the brakes the way you push in a clutch, it's going to be a quick stop.

in both automatic and manual you use your right foot for the brake
>inb4 I heel-and-toe and use my dick to brake

Automatic drivers probably don't know what RPM is. They don't have to shift gears so there is no point in hearing, feeling or seeing the state of the engine.

Bought an old (2002) automatic and i'm afraid it broke whenerver i took it for a spin because French manufacturers didn't recommend changing the transmission fluid, so they all ended up breaking down
>>
>>538644808
cars with paddles have a "manual" mode where you can switch gears when you want (within limits)
in that case you can use more or less of your RPMs

never believe the auto maker's "recommendations"
change engine oil every 10kkm (don't give me no excuses)
change automatic transmission oil every 50kkm (don't give me no excuses)
change brake fluid every two years (full drain and venting)
change cooling liquid every two years
change spark plugs after 200kkm if you make it that far

Sometimes that is great. Just let me chill in comfort on the highway. No real need for any of that

if you only ever did your laundry in a washing machine and not down by the river smashing your shirts on stones, then you don't know how to do laundry

i like the retarded shifter they put in the RAM 1500/2500 ... that knob. whenever I drive a different car I change the stereo/AC settings when I want to change drive mode lol
>>
>>538645030
This comment just shows how dumb americans are. You don't shift on a highway like your pic. You just use highest gear for hours and it's the same comfort.
