The fact that the nons have those powers makes women more obedient to them. The more women get killed by nons, the more obedient to nons they become. It is basically saying that we are incapable of protecting our women from the nons. If you would want women to turn against the nons, you must either harm women so they are afraid of you, or you must harm the nons so that women see nons as nondangerous.Tldr, women will always side with whichever men are most dangerous to women.
