Hello pol, I'm a chink born in singapore and I experience existential dread whenever my religious relatives pressure me to go to church. The idea of an Abrahamic god fills me with nothing but terror and loneliness.When I was young, I broke down in tears when I found out that non beleivers would be punished in eternal hellfire. My strict borderline BPD mother didn't comfort me or tell me about how God loved me. Instead she told me that I had better worship God or I would indeed die in hell. This broke me. I was afraid of such a horrifying god. In the bible, child sacrifice is a scarily common trope. So much suffering and bloodshed to atone for the sin of being human. It's almost as if we need to suffer in order to apologize for existing.So when pol tells me "chinks have no souls". I am not offended. In fact, I cling to that sometimes. I desperately wish it were true. Why am I subjected to an Abrahamic system of suffering. This god demands reciprocation or he will torture you for an eternity. Like an abusive partner in a relationship who will hit you forever and ever if you don't want to love them. Modernity is so different that there's no philosophy written yet on how to deal with nihilism and existentialism without god.
