It's just SpaceX tech.
Elon sells his tech to the Chinese and has been doing so since the Tesla Roadster was produced.
>>
Welcome to 2015, China.

Actually it was you mutts who stole rocket technology from Nazis.

SpaceX is also still in 2015.
>>

Elon didn't beg. The Chinese just have enough money to buy his loyalty. Elon Musk is not an American and he doesn't give a fuck about anything except being rich.
That's why Elon's staff is mostly Indian and Chinese while Americans get told "go fuck yourselves."
The US government is aware but doesn't care. The lobbies that work with Elon are also working with them.

Space rocket don't need to be reused and shouldn't be.

Just build floating spaceports and hoist them up with a crane. Who cares about a stupid cylinder and all this complex bullshit to inch out a few dollar reduction in the long run.

Imagine if you will, a 2000x2000 foot paved pad.

If there was a power station on it, it could be used to heat the air to keep it at a fixed elevation say 50,000 feet.

The crane pulls the space rocket up. Minimal energy. It launches from 50,000 feet and energy costs slashed more than half.

My idea is as good as it gets and as close as you are going to get to a space elevator. Small brains have small thoughts that's why communists and grifters think reusable is somehow good. Von Bron was against recoverable rockets and fired everyone who suggested it because it's a self limiting concept. The whole idea of it is akin to polishing a turd. Just because you can make it elaborate or even cheap, doesn't mean jack shit. Take the L, scrap this retard concept, explore space elevators, or mega tall structures or floating spaceports. You are a peak midwit. If musk wasn't distracted by this WHOAAAH LE HECKIN SPACE TUBE IS LANDING AND CAN BE REUSED, we would have made it to Mars by now. If you want to blame anything for the lack of space progress, it's this reuse retarded idea. Now the yasss women nasa team might actually beat china to the moon now that they are bogged down with heckin slender bois landing all by themselves, holy shit, what a dumb useless waste of brain power and resources all for a 5% cost savings.
>>
I don't understand how anyone believes these rocket landings, including SpaceX ones, aren't obvious CGI. They don't look remotely real.

Even saying "build rocket launchpads on top of Mount Everest to save fuel" is still more feasible than the bullshit you just wrote.
>>
>>538729174
1. There is no cable suited for a space elevator at this time.
2. Reusable rockets make mass to orbit cheap. This is needed for making life on the moon and Mars self-sustaining. This has also already enabled Starlink.

Next week they are going to complain China is sending too many rockets into space or clogging up the space with satellites.
>>
>>538729174
Wait until this retard learns about work (the physics term "work") + newton's third law. Hoisting up a rocket into space is going to require the same amount of energy from the floating crane as it would blasting out from the rocket engines.

does China do anything that isn't copying something else?
>>
>>538729560
This wasnt a copy. Read what they did
>>
>>538729314
Reading comprehension missed the most vital point. You don't need a cable if you simply have a floating spaceport elevated to a fixed height by means of power generation on board vis-รก-vis either doing nothing than providing hot air or driving a series of turbines to keep it suspended for months at a time.
>>538729391
This is a dishonest reply that compares a single launch to the initial hoist assisted launch. A hoist uses less energy than a launch, retard. If 50,000 feet can be spare from ground level that is huge. If there was a space solar farm beaming down gigawats of energy to such a platform, the energy cost of it would be inconsequential and it could remain elevated for realizing cheaper launches than any reusable bozo could invision.
>>
>>538729630
You still haven't explained how you can build a floating spaceport to begin with, so everything else you have to say means nothing.
>>
>>538729441
Should come natural to chinky little fellow like yourself. I do believe, however, your limited cognitive abilities are going to be a hang up.

Smarter people than you have already thought about this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4m75t4x1V2o

>>538729749
Perhaps if they had thought harder and imagined a height higher than a mountain they may have proposed ideas like a spaceport in the sky and found a way to make that work, be it boyancy through power heating the air or a series of spinning blades, instead of accepting defeat like the recycling cucks. I would take a dumb person with an idea over a know it all that says something won't work. There were plenty of experts that told the Wright brothers the airplane would never work.

>Even saying "build rocket launchpads on top of Mount Everest to save fuel" is still more feasible than the bullshit you just wrote.
Theoretically couldn't we just build a really big man-made mountain?
>>
>>538730227
If we had the tech to dredge the ocean floor for the material, yeah.
And we'd lower the sea level by a bit, too.

isnt this better unless elon can make his chopsticks portable? They can land anywhere in the sea.

Seems like the rocket is going to get jostled around a lot more using this method. The fact that the video cuts the second it gets down in all the clips I've seen makes me suspect that it didn't stay upright after they caught it.
