>Americans, once members of a proudly literate society, read much less than they used to. According to the National Endowment for the Arts, which conducts the most comprehensive survey of the nation’s reading habits, fewer than half of all adults reported having read a book of any kind in 2022. Only 38 percent read a novel or short story. A study analyzing 236,000 responses to the American Time Use Survey found that the proportion of Americans who read for pleasure on any given day fell from 28 percent in 2004 to 16 percent in 2023. (The study looked at people who had read a book, magazine, or newspaper; listened to an audiobook; or read an e-book.) Gambling has become a more common leisure activity than reading a book: Last year, 57 percent of Americans placed a bet.
>The decline in reading cuts across age groups, gender, and education levels. Even the demographics that traditionally read the most—retirees, women, and college graduates—have seen a collapse.
>The books that people do read are simpler than they used to be. New York Times best sellers today have sentences that are about one-third shorter than they were a century ago. Longer sentences aren’t inherently better. But their former ubiquity suggests an age when Americans had the inclination and ability to read serious works of literature. In 1958, the English translation of Boris Pasternak’s Doctor Zhivago was the best-selling novel of the year, according to Publishers Weekly. Pasternak writes in long, complex sentences
>Last year’s top-selling novel was Sunrise on the Reaping, the latest in the Hunger Games young-adult series.

the past 4 months have been the best indication in many years that this board does not read

>Last year’s top-selling novel
So imagine a society in which people will voluntarily pay their own hard-earned money to receive books that they will then voluntarily read in their own spare time
And then imagine describing those people as "illiterate"

Oh wow, you mean a country that was once 95% white but is now 40-50% white has seen a massive collapse in literacy and intelligence by broad statistical measurements? Who could have possibly foreseen this?

Do you want me to tell you the one dividing demographic they didn't parse the numbers through, or would you like to guess?

It's niggers. Niggers and spics and jeets and other infinite fecaloid abominations of racemixing are the reason why literacy is collapsing. They tracked it across every demographic except for the only one that would actually tell the truth, which is race. Breaking down the numbers by race would show that whites still read, still learn, still perform at extremely high levels, while the increasing majority of nigger-apes overrunning the country don't really aspire to anything more than tiktok fame or being a professional rapper or athlete. Neither of which are pastimes well-known for literacy.

It's just another study in a long line of ten thousand other studies that all show the race problem without daring to actually name it as such. You can lead a nigger to education but you cannot make him white.

Look how many here are just shills and bots. It's impossible to discuss anything here.

It’s only going to get worse. If you want to actually discuss things consistantly in a coherent manner - talk about geopolitics, history & conspiracy theories, finance and esoteric metaphysical ideas, places like image board where it's open to everyone is no longer an isloated layer where you can just laugh at normiefags. You are not observing it, you are being observed. However, the answer is the psyops sommelier society formerly known as 4chan withdrawal prevention center. If you're getting tired of talking to same-shit-spam-agitprop-algo-bots, anons will have to break the covenant for a while - a chat format not image boards again. But Discord & Telegram are namefags and privacy nightmare. SX doens't require your phone number to join and the first messaging app without user identifier.
