A phenomenon in Ukraine: a wave of alliances among Jewish soldiers at the front; "If we die - then as Jews"

A new phenomenon that began in recent weeks in Ukraine is gaining momentum, when more and more Jewish soldiers who were drafted into the army and stationed at the front want to be circumcised, both so that the right of the mitzvah will be preserved for them, and also to connect with the Jewish tradition and faith. "If we die - then at least as Jews"say the soldiers.

The beginning of the new wave was about a month and a half ago. A Jewish soldier stationed at the front in northern Ukraine, between the cities of Sumy and Kharkov, turned to the rabbi of the city of Sumy, the apostle Rabbi Yechiel Shlomo Halevi Levitansky and asked him to perform a circumcision as soon as possible. In those days, Rabbi Yoel Gelber, who held rounds of alliances in Chabad houses in the country, arrived in Madinah, and he granted the request and agreed to come to the bombed-out Sumi, which is a few kilometers away from the front.

The road there was challenging because a large part of the roads in the area are impassable due to their proximity to the front and the danger of renovating them after they were broken by the cold waves in the harsh winters and the tank sledges.
When they were about a hundred kilometers away from Sumy, near the small town of Luhvitsa in the Poltava district, the driver heard on the radio that the Russians were advancing further towards Sumy and that the city was under heavy shelling, and he refused to advance towards the city for fear of his life.

After a few hours, another driver was found willing to make the journey and Rabbi Gelber arrived at the main synagogue in Sumi and made the covenant. At the Mitzvah meal that followed, the circumcised soldier, Gregory P., in his mid-forties, said that his service in the army required very hard work, physically and mentally; He is responsible for collecting bodies of Ukrainian soldiers killed on the front

For those of you who have been wondering what trump’s seemingly directionless bombing strategy is: He wants to degrade iran’s ability to bomb shipping vessels going through the strait. So if Iran launches missiles after these latest raids you can rest assured trump’s strategy failed (again), and will continue to fail.

There is IRGC, which is in effect a fully stuctured military force with all the branches and there is the conventional military, also a complete military. The latter handle air defense and border security mostly, while the IRGC gets all the toys for assymetric warfare. The conventional military basically has all the old planes and ships at their disposal.

There is also the Basij militia, you can think of them as the national guard basically.

all in all about 600.000 active duty personell. 350.000 thousands reservists. With the addition of quickly mobilizing hundreds of thousands more in the form of basij when needed.

Bahrain had to call in 30,000 Saudi soldiers through the bridge to "defeat" a bunch of teenagers with molotov cocktails because the "Bahraini" ground forces (Balochi mercenaries) got completely pantsed and lost several cities in a week by the most elementary of asymmetric tactics.

— It’s a bit annoying and redundant to cover every specific city being struck.

Right now basically most cities in Khuzestan are being targeted (outskirts, not city centers) and before that, the southern coast of Iran.

It seems to me that most of the targets are presumed drone-launch locations, or anything that remotely resembles a military target (warehouses, IRGC training grounds, comms towers, etc.)

What’s noteworthy is that American strikes on Iran in recent days and weeks have been all over the place and very inaccurate. They have very clearly ran out of their ‘real’ target bank, most of the areas being hit now are empty or mostly irrelevant.

At most, they are targeting places they ‘suspect’ of having some kind of activity. But they’re not acting on actual intelligence anymore. They’re just bombing known locations and hoping to hit something.

Only if Iran is able to take them. So far, in the past week, dozens of Iranian soldiers and some civilians have been killed and countless government buildings have been leveled. What has Iran done in retaliation? Damaged a handful of hangars in US bases near Iran that were made out of cement bricks and sheet metal. To me, 'drastic actions' would mean dead American soldiers, damaged or sunk American warships, or Tel Aviv on fire. And that just doesn't seem to be in the cards. I actually think it's telling that Iran is retaliating so reluctantly while the US escalates nearly every night now.

What's very relevant is that Khuzestan is an Arab region, not a Persian region. What I find more interesting than the fact that they CAN escalate is the fact that they ARE escalating. We've seen this for several days in a row now: the US escalates, Iran responds very mildly and tries to de-escalate. At the very least, the US believes it can win this and force Hormuz open again.

i think you are putting the cart before the horse desu. historically, throughout the war, the US has shown to lash out whenever Iran either caused significant damage or took out some valuable assets. in this case, it might be several things at once - more specifically the naval refueling platforms and logistical support centers in the port of duqm, several HIMARS, as well as multiple hangars in jordan that might have sheltered fighter jets, multiple MQ9 or even a triton

The problem is that the US is more than self-sufficient for oil. That is, their production is consistently much higher than their consumption. It's the rest of the world that would suffer; and the US would be the very last country where oil shortages would bite directly.

Iran, meanwhile, is facing acute shortages of food and drinking water in large parts of the country, plus intermittent electricity and damaged roads and bridges (which in a mountainous country is a big deal). Iran will collapse materially long before the US does, though perhaps they're betting on US allies abandoning the US in the face of an oil crisis.

You clearly don't know how the US supply chain works then. The US produces almost exclusively light crude, and imports massive amounts of heavy crude for its specialized refineries. Its also the oil in the SPRs. Once that runs out, it will no longer be able to cushion the price of heavy crude, which will massively shoot up in price as Europe and Asia will be more reliant on Mexican and Canadian oil. On the contrary, the US will be quite heavily affected as their refineries aren't built to refine large amounts of heavy crude.

Sacrifice to atone for the sins of the dead is literally so pivotal to jewish religion that it's even found in the bible, no need to even go to the Talmud.

The US agreed to an MOU that said israel would leave Lebanon. Why didn’t trump compel them to do that? Surely trump isn’t beholden to a small desert country

You know, that would be funny. Hit the refueling facilities it's using. Then, when they try to bring fuel over the water, hit the refueling ship while it's attached.
>>
>>538837333
why doesnt iran just target it? that junk is a sitting duck for drones and missiles
