I live on Georgian Bay which is a paradise on earth. In Australia all the waterways are full of crocodiles and shit. No comparison.
Never been to Australia but I grew up consooming their media.I have to say that Australian culture (as depicted by popular children's media in the '90s) is superior to Canadian culture.There's a bit more pathos there and class consciousness, whereas Canada never really had a strong identity of its own that was apart from the American midwestern one by virtue of having so many strong competing identities (WASPs and Quebecois).Of course in real life Ozzies lost their fight against their corporate masters long ago (Rupert Murdoch, Gina Rinehart), and while Canada also has their rich people it tends to be more egalitarian here.
