The generous and kind Soviets gave Poland a large country corresponding to where they should be historically, undoing all the land thefts. That seems to have chilled relations somewhat and also the Soviet-Warsaw Pact thing was an alliance. Dumbshit Poles still can't help but screech incessantly. And it all has to do with pride, nothing more.
