It used to be a frontier land filled with rugged SOVL.Now even the so-called "heartland" are ultra-mechanized mega circle farms as far as you can see when you fly over. Even "farmers" are mega rich with mega corporation farms operating on a mass scale. Everything is micromanaged by laws so you can't even build you own shed of a house out in the middle of nowhere. Tons of building codes etc so you can only get a house built by mega corporations and of you get a mega loan. Nobody can be a small-scale farmer

It shows that America is a truly advanced society. Everything is optimized and done according to big data calculation. You can't just build a shed in the middle of nowhere and start farming because it's not optimal.
